No idea, new to ko-fi myself.
Delayed with the test release of the updated forum. Hopefully this upcoming weekend.
Did you need volunteer testers? If so I put my name down. Either I can break it or it is unbreakable.
Oh, there's lots broken right from the start!
The question ... what parts are going to be worth fixing ...

1. It wasn't the site upgrade per se, it was a test migration of the DB to a DB cluster to make future migration and upgrades smoother and quicker
2. Considering to implement CloudFlare post-upgrade
It was part of the upgrade, and it was announced in advance.
That must be a drawback when using Tapatalk: I never saw it.
It was also on the Facebook page, but to be fair some people aren't on Facebook.The announcement sporadically appeared at the top of the main page, in like a pale yellow hilite. It was really easy to miss if you were not looking for it.

The forum was down for some hours last night. Was this part of the upgrade? Are we now running on the DB cluster?
Sadly not. The transfer - which takes 7-8hours each attempt - kept failing. I tracked at least part of the issue to a corrupted index in the original database, and the first attempt to fix it - which shouldn't normally have caused much trouble - broke it completely after logs and reindexing unexpectedly filled the storage.
Hence the short notice.
The corruption is now hopefully fixed. Another backup and restore to attempt another test of getting the DB on the cluster will be attempted soon. 17GB data dumps do not transfer nicely.
I lost my old website, arthwollipot.com, and everything on it because of a failure much like that.I have great patience with such things. After all, I have been in the IT business myself, and upgrades that failed because of DB corruption are not uncommon. At least you could revert to the original state. I have not always been that lucky.

International Skeptics is alive and kicking, and plans for growth are afoot! We are now launching fund-raising to further develop the platform.
<snip>
First half 2024
<snip>
- Migrate the forum to Xenforo. This is a modern forum software platform, with better performance, better editing, better media integration, better mobile access (built in PWA) and more
- Create a main International Skeptics website, in addition to the forum. This will include the ability for members to write articles or blog posts. This may, for example, be for a "long form" argument about a topic, which can then be discussed in the forum. It will also allow for the introduction of further features in the future.
- Create and maintain an International Skeptics social media presence.

We're in the process of planning and designing the "home" site for International Skeptics, as well as the upgrade to the forum software. As part of that we're going to be sending out a survey to all members to get feedback on what type of features/services that you'd like.
First though, I'd like an open discussion that we can use to decide on the questions to ask! So the floor is yours, pretty much anything is open. This can be for the forum, for the "parent website", the organisation as a whole, whatever.
A quick list of ideas to get the ball rolling
rule changes, events, social network, real world meetups, dating, process for selecting mods, member blogs (all or select?), like buttonsor other feedback mechanisms, social media integrations, competitions, etc etc etc
Lots of people post to Xitter from Ukraine.
Anyone managed to cancel their ko-fi subscription? I can find no way and their only reply to my emails is a meaningless form email fired back. Every damn month I have to dispute the payment with my bank. It's a small amout but a damn nuisance.
Some of you are still paying?
Sorry, but that's actually hilarious.
According to the following: https://www.worthofweb.com/website-value/www.internationalskeptics.com/ the site is worth $28,601
(Though the report is " is "1945 days old")
Maybe someone with deep pockets could make an other?
I can chip in $10.![]()
Perhaps if 280 of members contribute $100 each, members could do a management buy out (MBO)...?
One vote per member could mean it is run democratically.
