March 10, 2012 'Sylvia Browne 50th Anniversary Tour'
Hello,
I've spent the last 5 hours going over your site. You did a
fantastic job at researching & backing up or pointing out what
couldn't be backed up & you did it very respectfully. Well done.
I don't know if you will ever see this email. I noticed that your
site reporting stops at 2008, so I looked you up to find out any other
updates other than the ones on your site. Wikipedia shows you winning
an award in 2009 & your 2011 radio show followed by your minor heart
attack in 2011. So, if you do read this, I hope your recovery is
going well. We need people like you. As I mentioned, you did your
job thoroughly & respectfully.
I went to my first Sylvia show today by chance. My friend had two
free tickets & I've seen her on TV for years & assumed she must be
doing something right. But, I confess I've never paid her much
attention. I assumed my distaste for her stemmed from a personality
clash.
I couldn't believe her show today, at the Imperial Palace. Very few
people in attendance. Our free tickets were next to the stage. She
started out reading dogmas from a single folded paper & said, 'maybe
this will speak to some of you'.
She informed early on, she just broke her hip & arm from tripping
after returning home from a pedicure wearing the temp slippers they
give you. Too bad her pedicurist wasn't... psychic!
One of her 'Ministers' asked for all the people with a photo of
Sylvia to step forward. I looked at my friend as the majority of
folks sitting in the same area as us stood up. We had no such photo,
I'm assuming because our tickets were free from a promo site that
offers last minute tickets at no charge in order to fill up the
venue. There were maybe 20 other people sitting with us that also had
no photo. I wish I had asked if they belong to the same 'Ticket'
club. We were seated right next to the stage, 2 yards from Sylvia, a
lamp, mic & side table.
I noticed a couple people had 2 photos of Sylvia & were then allowed
to ask 2 questions. The photos were swiftly & strictly taken up by
the minister as each person approached the mic.
I sat amazed at her short and emotionless answers. She told them all
to ask only one question. She harshly reminded many of them that they
were asking a second question.
The last of the 'preferred photo holders' was a man who's mother was
in the hospital, expected to die any moment & he was weeping
desperately begging to ask her one question after the show, too
personal to ask publicly. She belted, 'I've answered your question!
She's going to live!' He literally begged her 6 more times to allow
him that brief question. She tried to wiggle out of it all the while
staring at him angrily. The audience seemed to be on his side. He
wouldn't leave without getting an answer & the weeping got worse, so
she gave a tiny nod. I don't know if he got to see her or not.
Then she took a container that looked like it could hold 2 gal.
Honestly it looked like the clear plastic 'keg' shaped container that
Sam's sells cheese balls in. They are handy once emptied &
washed....so, maybe she's being thriftly? I don't know what they used
before on her shows... but... times.... they be tough these days,
yeah?!? If you can imagine the size container, then visualize that
the tickets of the show barely covered the bottom half inch! She
picked out a few & read them off as people lined up from the General
Admission seats.
A woman came to ask a question about her grandfather (I believe, or
an older male relative) on behalf of the elder female relatives in her
family that had been haunted for decades over why he died. The way
she asked seemed to indicate to me, at least & I'm no psychic, that it
wasn't health related or foul play, which would kind of only leave
suicide. (my own opinion) But, Sylvia cut the woman off mid sentence
& said, 'He was murdered!'
This clearly... very clearly took the woman by complete shock. She
literally jerked her head back from the mic, swallowed & was
speechless for a few seconds as Sylvia said, 'Yeah, murdered.' The
lady managed to say that he was hung, her voice barely audible & shaky.
I was sitting close to the stage, as I mentioned & could hear her
because I was roughly 3' from her. Sylvia said she didn't care, 'he
was murdered!' The lady was still visibly stunned & apprehensive to
continue but spoke a few broken sentence fragments. 'He was hung.'
'Ruled suicide.' A couple I couldn't hear as Sylvia spoke over her
referring to gambling debts or owing money to someone, then Sylvia
asked if it could have anything to do with the wife? The lady slowly
said that the wife was very hard on the children. Sylvia demanded it
was all the wife's fault and he was murdered for it.
This was one guest that didn't thank Sylvia as she left the mic, head
hung low, bewildered & alarmingly white in color. Sylvia told her to
tell her relatives he was murdered & it was over the wife, as the lady
walked away.
I was sick in my stomach.
I went home immediately after the show & started looking at Sylvia's
website. I wanted to know what the photos were all about. It was $75
to get into General Admission ticket & $125 'VIP' ticket which
guaranteed the ticket holder they could ask ONE question. I guess
some people bought 2 photos or...VIP tickets so they could ask 2
questions. It would explain why the staff closely monitored the photos.
I continued to search until I found your site. Well done.
(This showroom at the Imperial Palace had four levels with a row of
VIP booths on 3 levels. Enter high & gradually step down stairs four
levels of cafeteria style tables lined up vertically on each level &
the last level was directly in front of the stage. I mention this
only to point out how different her Vegas shows are now to what I saw
on YouTube. 764 seats (40 VIP Booths) No level was full & only the
first three closest to the stage had anyone at all, but very many
empty seats were easily visible. The 'preferred photo holders' near
the stage were in a section that could seat 72 guests but had many
empty seats.)
Mr. Lancaster, I do hope you recover strongly. If you continue to
update the site, then you're more than welcome to use this email.
Please feel free, if you wish, to shorten it by leaving out the added
detail of the size & caliber of the show (or any part), which I only
included for your amusement more or less. I hope it's a small comfort
to see what small crowds she draws here & they have to give many
tickets away for free!
You've done a great service, in my opinion.
Thank you.
