StopSylvia email: "Chris Dufresne"

From the letter:

As far as my health the first thing he said was you have lower back problems that you will have to deal with the rest of your life.
These days that's a pretty safe guess depending on the age of the scammed, errr ummmm, client. Once you develop lower back problems, it is pretty much a lifetime issue. Any so called psychic predicting money issues is also safe. You wouldn't be calling for a reading if your life was in fine order. I remain unimpressed by this reading. :p

I don't think I know anyone who doesn't have lower back problems these days!

And of course, she doesn't have a recording of the call. If she had, she would have sent it to you as proof. So she's clearly relying entirely on memory.
I wonder why the Brownes don't send their clients a recording of these phone calls?* It's pretty common practice now, at least amongst astrologers (I know quite a few) and with modern technology, it's simple to set up.

*OK, I don't wonder at all, I know exactly why they don't.

Actually they do.

Standard for both.

From their web site:
As a gratuity, both Sylvia and Chris cassette record the reading and send you the one and only copy of your tape. It is important to note that reading tapes are not guaranteed to be delivered by the post office or against any malfunctions as they are again a gratuity. The fee charged for your reading is for the session itself, not the tape.

The wording of that is careful and intentional. People used to call in saying they lost their tape and therefore wanted another reading (free).

Does she still have the tape?

Yes. a cassette recording of the phone reading is standard for Browne. Not sure whether it is for Chis.
Standard for both.
And the editing is free!

As I recall, if people are dissatisfied with their reading, they have to type out a transcript of the tape and highlight what was incorrect and prove it. So, two or five years, or whatever, you have to prove the event did not occur as predicted.

A lot of work and a lot of hoops to jump thru. But sometimes people can just complain and get a refund at times.

I wonder if it is difficult to get a refund these days or if they fight harder to keep every dollar they get. I've never seen Chris even on TV or a film, so I don't know how he comes off as a speaker. Sylvia used to be rather funny and someone you felt you could relate to, but I have no clue about Chris.

Arrogant and not too bright was the general consensus back in the day. Some of us used to speculate that maybe that is why Sylvia did most of the talking. Who knows.
