You must admit that there was a time (prior to some changes that were made about 5 years ago) when postal workers going bananas was "in the news" with an unnerving degree of frequency. This had a lot to do with the fact that the law does not allow Veterans mental health records to be released, so when the Post Office hired Vets, those doing the hiring were unable to see if there might be some cause for concern with this particular applicant.
The paramilitary atmosphere at the P.O. has been scaled back significantly since these events that seemed so very common in the 80's & 90's. Nearly one half of all postal employees at the time were supervisors. This means that literally half of the people working there were employed to watch the other half. Not good.
