Sleep state issue

I was well into my thirties before I shared my experiences with anyone (even my several shrinks over the years) as I was convinced that I was truly crazy or, at the least, had some sort of epilepsy.
Imagine my relief when, in the 1970s, more literature was avaliable on this phenomenon.WHEW!!

Of course, you may still be truly crazy.:D

Hello, everyone. Longtime lurker here. Just thought I would join in because this topic is especially interesting to me.
Sleep paralysis has been with me since childhood and occurs several times a year. About fifteen years ago, I discovered that I could somewhat induce it at will. I can only do it towards the end of a current episode while I am conscious but still immobile (that short periode where you feel yourself coming out of it). Often, I will "push/pull" back and forth between the paralysis and the upper level of consciousness, never doing it more than a couple of times. During these deliberate episodes, I don't experience visual or auditory hallucinations, only the feeling of fear that comes with it.
It's not something I would consider fun, and once I found out I could do it, started to only as an exercise in will power. Has anyone else ever tried it?
