Should Bush ditch Cheney?

Most of you have it wrong if you think Bush will get rid of Cheney.

He's a loyal guy and will stick with Cheney.

McCain is looked at as a backstabber by many Republicans and he's too moderate. So is Guiliani, Powell, and Pataki. Plus, there won't be a pro-choice VP.

I just had a glance at Ann Coulter, reflected in my Sanity Shield which has taken a definite dent. You're not taking this altogether seriously, are you?

LOL. Of course I wasn't serious ;)

Fear not! Coulter would NEVER do anything to hurt Cheney.

I bet she would if he asked her too! :zzw:

New Ager: I think Bush will excite his voters a lot more than Kerry will.
This is true. I think Republicans, as of late anyway, are better at this than the Democrats (for whatever reason).

New Ager: Bush wins easily.
I would not reach this conclusion just yet. If Kerry continues to run his campaign like he has for the past couple months, then I would agree. I don't know what his message is, I haven't seen him articulate his vision.

Then again, I don't live in a battleground state, I live in a state that goes to the Democrat, so I don't see as much campaign propaganda here as another state might.

I think the people who are going to vote for Bush have already made up their mind that they will. It's Kerry's election to lose... he can either energize the base and all the undecided, or he can not, and hand the election to Bush and his enthusiastic supporters.

Wow, listen to me, I could be a political analyst on MSNBC! (or maybe I already am... ;))

from Blue Monk:
in my opinion McCain would be an asset there.

If you don’t agree it would helpful if you said why.
No doubt he'd be an asset, but the combination would be bizarre. (I really like McCain.)

Is the decision Bush's to make? If Rove and his hell-spawned acolytes decide he has to go, I reckon that's it. On this (more civilised) side of the pond, Cheney would have a visit from two colleagues and be left with a glass of fine brandy and a pistol with one bullet in it. Over there, it'll probably involve microwaves and a pace-maker.

Arnie sounds ideal, but isn't there a problem with his place of birth?.

McCain moderate? Uh, no. Take it from an Arizonan: McCain is no moderate. Not even close.

He's not pure concentrated evil. That's the difference.

Mcain is a true conservative....But I respect him...he spent those years in hell. in the primary I voted mcain over bush. Mcain should have be our president. I think he is a good man.

Virgil

but if he signs up with Bush then he is SOL.
Gen Powell could have been the first black president. now he is damaged goods. I wouln't trust him to be dog catcher.

I disagree.

If Bush loses in 2004, I could imagine a scenario in which Powell sucessfully challenges Kerry in 2008.

In fact, it could be Powell in a land slide. Not only would he carry all of the "red" states, (he gets extra credit there for being a loyal party guy) how many African Americans are going to hold a grudge when they have the chance of voting in the first black president?

(New Ager)

Not so. Both have to energize their base to win. Bush has shown he can do this, but Kerry is an unknown. So far, the evidence points to no, he can't.

Wow, listen to me, I could be a political analyst on MSNBC! ...

(New Ager)

Why would you want to be on a network that nobody watches? :D

Of course it is.

More liberal conspiracy theories. You guys should write a book.

No American politician is evil. We will leave that title to Hussein, Bin Laden, etc....

Reagan, Rush are conservatives.

He served his country and is a good man. But, he will never be the Republican nominee.

You guys don't really understand how it works. Powell will never be the Republican nominee. He's pro-choice.

That was kinda my tongue-in-cheek point; my two-bit commentary deserves a two-bit news station. :)
