Search Engine Question

I use the Yahoo toolbar in Firefox. I have the default search engine in Firefox set to Google. But when I type a search into it, as soon as I hit return the same identical search terms appear in the Yahoo search box on the toolbar. I've tried searching but can't find anything current on this issue.

Does anyone know------are the Google and Yahoo search engines one and the same? Or is it that Yahoo is detecting the Google search and offering it's own results? Also, does Yahoo keep a separate browsing history from Google someplace? If so, how do you get at it to see what's in there or delete it?

Yahoo is most reading your input into the search box, I personally don't like any toolbars. Yahoo and Google are not the same.

You can customise FF anyway you want. Just right click the top tool bar select customise and then you can drag the size of the search bar to whatever size you want. You can even drag it and place it onto the menu bar (which has the menus and buttons and address bar on) which is what I do. It takes up next to no real estate then. Resize the address box and remove the icons you don't need and you can get FF all on one bar at the top including search and address boxes.
