Satellites Do Not Exist

Thermodynamics hates conspiracy theorists.

The thermosphere has a density less than one hundred trillionth of the atmosphere at sea level. Any heat energy absorbed through contact with this rarified gas is almost immediately lost through radiation.

The video certainly proves that you've got to be incredibly stupid to think you're that smart.

How does he explain that you need to point the dish towards a fairly well-defined direction in the sky, and that this direction doesn't vary much if you move a hundred miles? And that you receive different bundles of programs from different regions in the sky, sometimes with programs in a foreign language that land-based broadcasts in your region don't carry?
Haven't read this nonsense in a while, but IIRC, those signals are claimed to be faked by means of network of transmission masts cunningly disguised as cell phone masts.

Which kind of begs the question that if cellphone masts are satellite transmitters in disguise, how do cellphones work?

I honestly have no idea.

I went searching for the Stundie thread that I was recalling and it appears that the idea that rockets fly by pushing against the atmosphere, and thus won't work in a vacuum, is distressingly widespread in some circles.
Rockets, propellers, they're pretty much the same thing, right?

And it's those damned Freemasons who are behind the conspiracy. The Shriners are evil, man.

Cluesforum's favourite theory is that the ISS is actually just a very shiny plane.

I'd like to see his explanation of why moving a satellite TV antenna just a half degree or so off axis can cause serious degradation or complete loss of of signal.

And what about the fact that satellite communications were around long before cell phones?

Somewhere, probably in the Journal of Irreproducible Results many years ago, I saw a quote from an article in the NY Times from about 1930-something. It criticized Robert Goddard for not knowing that the rocket needed to push against air.

It's good to know that some things don't change.

Yeah, this goes back to highschool physics, where Mr. Fennel was explaining the difference between temperature and heat. Some folks just never quite got it.

Nice conversation-I knew nothing about this.

What I can't believe is none of these bozo's dumped on the Jews.

He doesn't. Here's what the video says (via on-screen text, as this part of the video isn't spoken):

notice it is called sky or cable tv
not satellite or space tv

Is this person UK based? Or somewhere else non-US?

"Contact your cable or satellite provider" is a pretty common phrase here.
