Santorum is against jobs! And this is the kind of job you don't even have to go to school for. He's definitely blowing it.
I shudder to think what kind of expensive huge new government agency would be needed to try and stop us from seeing boobs on the internet.
Try not to be so negative. Think of the job creation! I wouldn't mind being a highly-paid civil servant with great benefits whose job it is to examine pornography all day. "Hmmm, I don't know. I've been investigating Naughty Poolboys VIII: In Too Deep but even after viewing it nine times I can't decide if it's pornography or not. I'll need to see the next film in the series to gain context."
It was. I have heard that the report is quite a good read, with stacks of stacked examples of porn.Republicans have been trying to crusade against porn forever. Reagan was particularly active in that he actually continued efforts after he got elected...
Recall the "blue ribbon" panel he put together, headed by anti-porn crusader Edwin Meese?
It was rather amusing...
In the 80s I lived in a county in Florida that attempted this; it lasted long enough for me to skedaddle. Not that I was much into the porn, it was the principle.

There's a quote where he makes it quite clear that leaving people alone is not what he's all about.
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4784905They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do. Government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulation low and that we shouldn't get involved in the bedroom, we shouldn't get involved in cultural issues, you know, people should do whatever they want. Well, that is not how traditional conservatives view the world, and I think most conservatives understand that individuals can't go it alone, that there is no such society that I'm aware of where we've had radical individualism and that it succeeds as a culture.
Santorum says in a statement posted to his website, “The Obama Administration has turned a blind eye to those who wish to preserve our culture from the scourge of pornography and has refused to enforce obscenity laws.”
I haven't really paid much attention to what he's been saying because I don't believe he has a chance of winning but this is nuts. Santorum wants to ban porn. As far as I'm concerned "obscenity law" runs against the first amendment.

You can take our lives, but you can never take our porn.
...He's definitely blowing it.
Well Greenville also had no liquor sales at the time as well, you had to buy your liquor in Vandalia

And then you get to be on BBW Midget Scat section.
From the link in the OP...
Don't you love how they blame absolutely everything on Obama? So tell us, Rick. What did Dubya do to enforce obscenity laws?
Steve S
and nobody wants morality lectures from a schoolmarm in chief.

It's obvious why he's against porn: he's trying to stamp out the other definition of santorum.
