Sanjay Gupta?

I get it being one of those things that works in some cases but not in others.

One of the rules taught in Special Education courses that I have taken is that you try anything that might work, and continue doing that which gets some positive results.

FC is not entirely worthless. It is, however, not widely useful. When it works, do it. When it does not work, stop trying to make it work.

Find some way to determine whether it is working in an individual case, and I see no problem.

This is the same site I linked in post #21. As I said then, a report where Gupta "examines the controversy" and states that "Subsequent literature, studies, and views on FC largely discredit the technique. However, a small number of peer-reviewed articles did publish confirming evidence that validates some individuals' use of FC. Some experts believe that FC can be effective in certain specific circumstances" is hardly a ringing endorsement.

That's because the right are typically not that big into critical thinking

And the Left is not much better on a lot of issues.

Frankly, it does not matter who Obama nominates , people like Cicero will find an excuse to take potshots at him.
And, to be fair, some Obama supporters will automatically praise every choice Obama makes, no matter how questionable.

And some of the lefties who are criticisng the choice because Gupta is not a advocate of a single payer system (IE, the Government totally controls the Medical system) are going to be mad no matter what since a single payer system is just not on the cards.

I was reporting the "pot shots" the libs were taking at S.G. If S.G. is into woo, then I would wonder about Obama's vetting process, which was rather poor when it came to choosing his Commerce Secretary.

It is important for all Americans for Obama to succeed. But the far left is only concerned with how closely will he follow their agenda.

I did it because I push dogpile - from which I make no money, etc. and one or two mentioned not wanting to go through the multiple , but not it, hits on Google. Dogpile almost always gets me there faster and more accurately than Google so.....:)

Uhm... maybe it's just me, but why not just ask the man...

The CNN website has a spot where you can ask questions about the show, Gupta's show Housecall, or where you can comment on subjects discussed in the show.
It seems reasonable to think that Dr. Gupta could be easily reached that way to clearify his views on the subject.

However, I haven't seen anything so far to indicate that he did anything else then interview people and report a controversy. He didn't say we should use it in standerd practice, as far as I read back in the thread.

SYL :)
