us that California was the largest state in the U.S.
I'm sure this took a lot of Alaskans and Texans by surprise, who had not been alerted to their shrinking boundaries.
This was a story about the growing Latino population in the U.S.,
which has now become the largest minority.
I have to assume he was referring to the population of California,
but he did not make this distinction.
