Mitt Romney's Facebook page "Likes" have been falling noticeably.

They've gone down by 500 in the past two hours.

Currently he has 12,005,796 likes. Watch them fall!

Hah. A bit less than 3 minutes after you posted this, it was at 12,005,791. About 30 seconds later, I refreshed the page and it had dropped to 12,005,788. Ten seconds after that, I refreshed the page again and it actually went up by one.

Edit: Heh. It's back to 12,005,788. That one must have been a mistake. :p

Schadenfreude aside, this is not surprising. He's not a factor anymore, and people just want to do some housekeeping.

My thinking too. His FB page was more or less a campaign page. This is no different than taking down the political yard signs. I put my Obama sign away. It only means the campaign is over.

Yep. Even Sarah Palin still pops up occasionally as a talking head on FOX. Okay, aside from a handful of her adoring fans, most people probably find her as interesting as that two headed cow in the sideshow tent. But four years from now Mitt Romney will probably be a name everyone stopped talking about three years ago.
 
I expect FB pages like "1 Million Strong Against Romney" will also sooner or later lose most of their "likes", or simply go inactive.

ETA: Less face it, Romney's FB page losing a lot of "likes" has nothing like the significance of an actual FB presence losing lots of likes. It's not like Romney is anything similar to George Takei, for example!

He has a lot of time on his hands for Farmville now - all those bandwagon jumpers are gonna be sorry while I get the bumper crops.
 
I just find it enjoyable to physically see him becoming a nobody.

12,001,810 likes now.

He's lost 4,500 likes in 18 hours.

I'm pointing out that people unliking Mitt's page now that the election is over is no big deal. And I was trying to be clever about it.

Sure, the election's over, but it's nice to watch the sun set at the end of the day (or rather months/years of buildup). :)

If you're not interested in Romney's FB likes, you can just ignore this thread.
