I've been looking at this footage:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qWFVzBdM5s

And I might just be thick or something but I actually dont understand the point the videomaker (Rick Siegel?) is trying to make? First of all, there are audio blanks in it, why is this? Did he stop filming? Secondly I cannot hear any explosions which, as I understand, is what this video is supposed to show in the first place.

Are those windgusts supposed to be the explosions? And when the text says "explosions #2 #3" there is no audio at all, and definately not two explosions.

Third, he is running the sequence back and forth at various speeds, but I dont get to what end?

I actually dont get it, could someone put on their "CT" goggles and explain exactly what it means.

Cheers,
S

All I hear, apart from the apalling Voice over and radio chatter, is a bit of wind noise on the camera mike. Probably had one of those useless wind socks like my home video camera has.

And we all know how honest the Truth movement is and how desperate they are to get to the "truth"...

apparently, after playing the clips regularly, he "adjusts" them to compensate for the sound delay (light faster than sound etc), and at that point the three "explosions" (I agree, mic noise) are suppose to occur just prior to WTC7 collapse.

To me, the video was so lame, so poor, with so many artifacts and gaps, that it was useless.

A common factor in CT videos is the inability to make a simple argument simply. A video will be shown with a voiceover that doesn't relate to what's shown. A typical example is the "free-fall" collapse. A simple shot of the collapse with a ticking clock that stops when the collapse has finished would seem to be the basis of the argument. We never see this though.

The irony is that the 'truthers' accuse skeptics of simply believing whatever 'the man' tells them, and yet the woowoos watch these amatuer videos where throughout the filmaker is explicitly telling the viewer what to see, hear and deduce.

Siegel was not recording at normal speed at this point; to save tape/memory he was recording only every couple of seconds. His claim is that his camera caught the sound of explosives before the building fell; of course when you listen to the 1010 WINS coverage there is no "boom" and in fact nobody else reported the sounds he claims to have captured. As others have noted, what he probably caught is wind across an unshielded mike.

Apparently Siegel was able to record explosions from about 1-2 km away that cameras RIGHT NEXT TO THE TOWERS somehow missed. :faint:

Naturally, no twoofers ask why that is.

Why on earth didn't he just use "Long Play"?

He also "stopped recording" due to time lapse as WTC7 collapsed. He got the penthouse....the initial seconds of the collapse, stops recording, then starts again when it's over. The only person that would have shown WTC7 falling to the south/southeast and it didn't record due to "timelapse" .

Also just go to the 10:40 mark of LC2, the news crew doesn't pick up "explosions" prior to the collapse. And the Firefighters are not reacting as if there was an explosion big enough to be heard 2 miles away.
