Reagan on Rushmore?

Maybe Fox News will put up the money? Maybe they'll just carve it over Teddy since conservatives now hate him for starting the National Park system.

But wouldn't it be more appropriate for haters of the National Park System to leave Mount Rushmore alone and carve President Reagan in Half Dome.

Given that the vast majority of Americans do not know where Mt. Rushmore is and do not know which presidents are already on it, why are the Reagan fans so eager to add him to the monument. If they want recognition for him, lobby to have him on a U.S. coin or bill. Heck, they must think Reagan is far more important than Hamilton - shoot for putting him on the sawbuck.

He will be on a dollar coin in 2016 but heck presidents Rutherford B Hayes and Millard Fillmore already have their coins.


I doubt if many President Reagan fans want Mount Rushmore changed.

It seems the cult of Reagan is trying to get his bust carved into Mt Rushmore again. They say this should happen because "Reagan was the most successful president of the 20th century" based upon whatever made up metric the Reagan Legacy Project uses.

I say if they carve Reagan into it they should also carve in FDR and Clinton.

Clinton's misuse of the US military lead to the death of about one million more people than Bush. (Rwanda, and not nabbing Osama, and encouraging our enimies with Black Hawk Down)

Clinton was more interested in using his power for some selfish gratification in the Oval Office then dealing with the run-away dot com bubble and, thanks to that, I lost my house in California.

First of all, Clinton is irrelevant and nobody is driving to put him on Rushmore.

Secondly, Rwanda was not resolvable by inserting our troops there.

He had no authority to go in and grab ObL and the republicons shrieked like babies when he sent a few missiles for the al Qaeda camps.

Bush the Senile set up the operation in Somalia with the usual military accummen that republicons show. Bugger-all.

Erm, how many weeks did it take for two of our most elite forces to defeat a bunch of REMFs from a third-party nation on land foreign to both armies?
Compare that to the time it took Bush the Senile to invade and defeat Iraq in Desert Storm.

Of course, GHWB screwed up the victory and left the Kurds to fend for themselves...
