Prescott's rant

Did anyone else hear John Prescott's rant on the Today program this morning? He was talking about civil liberties bills and identity cards, and is either insane or really, really enjoys screwing with the country. Starts reasonably, for a few minutes, then starts running away from the question, "Are you creating a climate of fear?" by repeating the phrases "global terrorism" and "democracy" repeatedly, and refuses to let Humphries get a word in edgewise

Starts 13:35 or so here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/radio4_aod.shtml?today2 (You may have to click "Today: 8 - 9am" on the program selector).

I didn't actually hear it, but I gather it was quite amusing, what with him calling hunting a "Tally ho" issue and one that isn't important.

I think he secretly quite likes the ideas of toffs being beaten by the police in the streets.

That was highly amusing. John Humphries moved from Iraq (which Prescott had dismissed as "one of this program's obsessions") to asking about fox-hunting, at which Prescott snorted and claimed that it wasn't at all important. To which Humphries, almost speechless, asked why there was such a furore about it and why the government had felt the need to force it through.

Well he can't actually admit it. No, wait - there's no "incitement to class hatred" Bill. He can admit it.

Blackwhite.

What's more laughable is that the masses are falling for it.

"You can't be too careful!"

Yes you bloody can.
