How many Reichs have you had?
So where are all the on-the-spot TV crews when a couple of Swedes are rounded up in a dawn raid by ICE? And 3rd-rate TV celebs? And do they get transported to Gitmo in chains? And Trump crows about them? If not, why not? It's hiding behind the evidence for your claim that “White Europeans are exempt from ICE roundups.”![]()
No, it isn't.No, you said they are "exempt" which is substantively the same thing.
Depends on how we count East Germany. How many Reichs have you had?
There are none so blind as those who will not see.I'm not sure why you think television crews are remotely relevant to your claim here.
Are we looking for car keys under the lamppost?
No-one said there was an "official policy". How's it playing out boots on the ground?I don't know, probably more than zero.
If there is an official policy about how to treat people based on race, then it had to be communicated all the way down the chain of command to the agents on the ground. Do you think that a policy illegally based on skin color wouldn't leak to the news?
I don't know. I'd like to see the answer to his question though. That's @Norman Alexander 's fault for claiming a negative. If he didn't want to prove a negative, he shouldn't have made the claim.
Out of curiosity: Do you believe his claim is true? Why or why not?
Maybe.Boy , are we going to have fun with Walter. We need a new chew toy.
I don't know about you, but "exempt" strikes me as language describing policy rather than language used to describe a trend happening on the ground. Either way, though, evidence has yet to be adduced or even hinted at.No-one said there was an "official policy".
You are quite right. I was only drawing attention to the fact that those in science and politics today tie me to either those who slaughtered Jews or those who deny it ever happened. Odd.So? The events which divide previous ages from each other were also of relatively short duration compared to the ages themselves. For example:

But this is not the appropriate thread for this discussion.
Ideas are odd.You are quite right. I was only drawing attention to the fact that those in science and politics today tie me to either those who slaughtered Jews or those who deny it ever happened. Odd.
Analogies are like that. Different ones apply for different things. Nothing odd about it.You are quite right. I was only drawing attention to the fact that those in science and politics today tie me to either those who slaughtered Jews or those who deny it ever happened. Odd.
What is this weird obsession with orders of magnitude? What is this weird obsession with the durations of geological epochs and the boundary events which separate them, both of which vary wildly? My maternal grandfather (Geology PhD, 1927, Yale) specialized in the Precambrian. Eight to nine orders of magnitude.
If I had voted, I would have voted for Trump. And my reasons would have had nothing to do with Trump. For some reason, the Democratic Party decided to hand common sense over to the Republican Party. It would have been so easy to share common ground on our border and on biology.Ideas are odd.
So is not voting against Trump if you have the chance.
By not voting, you effectively did. Congrats on your choices. If I had voted, I would have voted for Trump. And my reasons would have had nothing to do with Trump. For some reason, the Democratic Party decided to hand common sense over to the Republican Party. It would have been so easy to share common ground on our border and on biology.
The election may very well have turned out differently.
They are, literally, doing Nazi salutes but people still think calling them Nazis is wrong.well i had a feeling nothing was going to count
The Maga/Nazis are wiping their asses with the Constitution, tanking the economy, arresting people for the crime of being brown, destroying public safety and causing the next pandemic to happen, but it's the Democrats that lack common sense? You wouldn't have voted for the Democrat because you think transgendered people are icky? Wow.If I had voted, I would have voted for Trump. And my reasons would have had nothing to do with Trump. For some reason, the Democratic Party decided to hand common sense over to the Republican Party. It would have been so easy to share common ground on our border and on biology.

Well, it is not really an obsession. They were a part of my life as an analytical chemist. I tested samples from a low of 5ug, for example, up to a ton of 500ug for synthesized samples. Two orders of magnitude. Seven would translate to 50,000,000ug. I just think in those terms. Think about how many minutes or centuries modern humans will delay the onset of the next Ice Age.Analogies are like that. Different ones apply for different things. Nothing odd about it.

The Cretaceous period lasted 79 million years. The Paleogene period lasted 43 million years. The boundary event that separates them, an asteroid strike, lasted seconds. Now calculate by how many orders of magnitude the duration of the two periods exceeded the duration of the boundary event, I know you want to.
There is currently a debate going on as to whether the severity of the climate change and mass extinction event caused by AGW is sufficient to justify considering it such a boundary event, i.e. whether it marks the end of the Holocene period and the beginning of a new one (provisionally named the Anthropocene). The Holocene period began about 11,700 years ago. We began burning fossil fuel a couple of centuries ago and it will probably take us another couple to get through what's left; call it four hundred years for the duration of the boundary event. There's another order of magnitude for you to calculate, have fun.
Norman shouldn't make a negative claim, if he doesn't like having to prove a negative. You do realise that you're asking Norman to prove a negative, right?
Woah! The burden of proof just got whiplash.Norman shouldn't make a negative claim, if he doesn't like having to prove a negative.
