And I thought I had a lot of books! You people must be eternally afraid of fire. The thought of all those books, up in flames, is a bit scary and depressing.

3/4 of mine got taken by a flood. It was pretty crushing for a long time afterwards. I'd think "I've got to look up X", and then realize that the book it was in no longer existed.
