I suppose this could go in any of several places, but I'll put it here. Texas has, as we know, come down with some strict guidelines on things like gender issues, and texts that speak approvingly of homosexuality and transgender and such things.... so, in the age when reductio ad absurdum is no longer even odd much less absurd, it seems that at Texas A&M, it is now forbiddent to teach Plato in elementary philosophy courses.

I mentioned it in the cancel culture thread, it was widely reported here, since the prof in question is Swedish, and I felt it was too beautifully, and shockingly, absurd not to get a mention...

I read about it in my very good and reliable morning paper, but had to check with other sources to make sure it was true - it just seemed to good and/or bad to be true. And the coal fire may be dying down completely...
