There has been some discussion of seeing various Vegas shows in this thread, but nothing concrete yet.

Going to see Penn & Teller at the Rio on Sunday evening was mentioned a few times. I'll likely be going, so I thought I'd start a thread about it to gauge interest.

The show is at 9pm, but the theater opens at 8 (I think) and there is live music played and other activities before then so it's advisable to get there latest by 8:15 - 8:30.

I don't know if there will be enough of us to get a group discount (minimum 10 tickets), so we'll likely be sitting separately and paying full price (apparently no TAM discount this year :(). We can share transportation there and back, though, and maybe a meal before the show, as we've done in previous years.

So, please post in this thread if you are interested in going and/or with suggestions, and we can coordinate things.

This is a great show, particularly if you haven't seen them live before.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at TAM next week!

I'm interested - I didn't manage to make it to the Rio last year, so it's been 2 years since I've seen the show live. I know they have at least one new trick in the lineup since then ("I'm A Little Teapot").

I would definitely like to go. It's been over 10 years since I've been to one of their shows.

I'll probably be interested, too. I don't currently have anything planned for Sunday night, and it's a couple of years since I last saw them.

I would be interested and joolz and another friend are too. In the other thread I linked to a deal for mezzanine seats for ~50 but I would also be quite willing to sit closer. It looks like the best seats right now are toward the back of the orch for about $105 There is sometimes a little "action" in that area so it might be quite interesting from that vantage point.

I definitely want to go, even though I've been too busy in rl to get here much and say so. (Thanks for the PM Allecher)

Don't mind what ticket price.

I am leaving for Vegas in 16 hours though and will need to book today or try and check into JREF en route as it would be good arrange to sit near each other.

Great--it looks like we have at least a handful of people wanting to go.

It may be difficult to coordinate sitting together, and unfortunately it looks like the VIP "&" section is almost sold out. I've purchased my ticket and will be in section 2, D12. I got my ticket with the Travelzoo discount and it came to $73.89 total.

There is a seating chart in the link in the OP, or here's a better one:

Something to think about--in the past we've had dinner at the Rio prior to the show, so that's a possibility if there's interest. Two years ago, a group of us ate at the Indian restaurant which was quite good. Last year, that restaurant had closed and some of us tried the dim sum place, which IMHO wasn't all that great (or at least not very memorable). It looks like now there's a new Indian restaurant (Royal Indian Bistro), which might be worth a try. Or, there are other options.

If interested in dinner, we should probably leave the South Point by about 6:00 or 6:30.

Don't understand the travelzoo thing? Why would you choose to pay full price if you can get it cheaper? I have a ticket anyway, my second choice as my first disappeared while I was making up my mind :-) I'll throw popcorn at the person who is sitting there :D

Section SEC 2/Row F/Seat 5

Happy with the Indian Restaurant as they have veggie stuff for me. If folk want to go to the steak or seafood place then I can go elsewhere.

If other veggies are going we can share a selection if we sit near each other.

Assume we'll all find Adman during TAM to hear the final arrangements.

Thanks for sorting this out Adman, will be fun to go with other folk.

Oops. I might have gotten your seat joolz, Section 2, Row E, Seat 10.

I prefer veggies too, so the Indian restaurant appeals to me.

Glad to see this is coming together!

Anyone else who wants to join us, whether TAM veteran or first TAMmer, is more than welcome. Just post in this thread to let us know.

I will keep this thread updated with the plans as we get closer to the date. In case you won't have access to the forum and/or don't know me, I won't be too hard to find at TAM--I'm a volunteer and a TAMbassador, and will also PM my contact info to everyone.

My friend and I have seats 2, J, 3&4, for $71 using the Travelzoo discount. I am sper stoked to see them again and also looking forward to the Indian food (although it is expensive). Everyone keep an eye out for coupons there.

Here is the menu for Royal India Bistro .

Oh yeah, I should have a rental car with room for 2-3 extras. You can reimburse me in naan.

The taxi cost is $25+ each way so hopefully we can find some more drivers for a car
pool.

I'm relying on my phone and a very bad 2g network, can someone post a direct link to this travelzoo thing for me please?

Thanks for posting the menu, Allecher. The Indian restaurant at the Rio sounds like a plan for a pre-P&T dinner.

Hmm, well I tried to order a ticket, but it got stuck at the validating the credit card stage. I may see if they can get me a ticket at the agency in the South Point later today.

Ugh. Did it get stuck at the validating the Visa stage? I've got a regular US Visa and still got that. I cancelled it one or two times and it eventually accepted my card. It was a pain.

I'll wait until tomorrow until I can get on wifi in that case, will the discount still be on? If not I'll just pay the full price anyway.

Yes, the Travelzoo discount is good through the end of the month. The initial offer is for the mezz but if you select a seat in another area (ie "A") then it will offer a discount there too.
