So I heard a clip of Tucker Carlson, he's seem quite upset about this but apparently because Machado is pro-gay marriage and Israel?

The problem has never been the Narcos, it's their US customers. The cartels are a business, they sell products that are in demand in CONUS with over fifty-million customers. The United States has never had an honest, realistic approach to counter-narcotics use, and the American people have been happy to look the other way when their friends partake in illegal drug use. Just Say No set the country back thirty years, diversion and treatment programs only work when the addict wishes to get sober. We hand out needles to make using the heavier narcotics easier to use. The result is we've reinforced the market the Mexican and Colombian cartels exploit.

How long did New Coke last? When was the last time you or anyone you know drank a Zima? They're gone because nobody bought them. The solution to the cartels isn't force, it's better marketing. Kill their market, they move onto other things. But that will take real work, and nobody in the US at the federal or state level wants to really work on this problem.

And SOF and DEA FAST teams have operated in Mexico and Colombia going back to 1985 after DEA agent, Kiki Camarena was kidnapped and murdered. The 7thSFG and 193rd out of Panama conducted operations in Colombia and Honduras. And again, we had specific reasons, and clear legal justification to hit those targets, often working with local military forces as cover, and with full permission of the local governments. This why the cartels in those countries don't mess with the DEA operating in those countries beyond keeping them under surveillance. This goes back to doing things the right way, as opposed to the Trump way. The US can do icky thing as long as works well with others, and at least makes the effort to look like we're playing by the rules.

Our (the US) problem is we've become good at lying to ourselves. Our politics is driven by delusion. I'm not as disgusted by Trump as I am by the people who didn't vote for Harris in this past election, doing so for the dumbest reasons. As a nation we are the toddler staring at the electrical socket holding a fork.

The big problem is the US based ammo-terrorists that smuggle weapons and ammunition manufactured in the US into Mexico arming the cartels. If mexico had balls it would seize the head of state that allows the criminal US based arm manufacturers to sell weapons that kill thousands of Mexicans. The CEOs of US weapons cartels should be extradited to Mexico and they should be held responsible for the thousands of deaths their products have caused.

The current theory is that Maduro will be offered a lighter sentence if he admits to helping Biden steal the 2020 election. Just imagine what a feather that would put in Trump's hat. MAGA would come together again in unwavering support, the Biden crime family would finally be behind bars, and the next elections would have to be postponed until all hint of fraud was eliminated. And since Trump was the rightful winner in 2020, he's entitled to at least another 4 years!
 
the fact that they had Delta Force escort FBI agents to arrest a Head of State in his own Country to read him is Rights before kidnapping him and his wife must be pretty much the most insane law-adjacent thing this Administration has ever done.
Future Law Students will be asked to make a Top Ten of things that are wrong with that idea.
Whoever signed off on it at DOJ should never be allowed within 1000 feet of any Courthouse.

Which opens a perfect defense strategy in the mold of Ghislane Maxwell: suggest cooperation in the future in return for a cosy prison whilst delaying the trial until it's politically pointless for Trump.

The vast majority of illegally held weapons in the Americas were manufactured in the US. US manufacturers will go as far as shadow selling directly to the gangs.

If you have to demand a Nobel Peace Prize by force from its titular recipient, I think maybe you don't understand what a peace prize is. The value of winning an award comes from people awarding it to you because they agree you earned it. Simply having the gold medal they hang around your neck isn't the same.
