Agreed.

But as I commented recently, the WORST solution is building supposedly impenetrable border walls that are porous as a sieve, and sending the US military on illegal gung-ho incursions into Mexico shooting up everybody.

And the Spanish treatment of Native Tribes was no better then the American Treatment.
And btw, the Spanish noblity if you mean people noble titles....have littel Nahuatl blood. Few of them made it over to Spain.
Now if you are talking the ruling clasese of Latin America....that is a different story.

Yes, at the moment most of the world seems to hate America and with good reason.

America has ◊◊◊◊ on any goodwill anyone apart from ◊◊◊◊◊ had for it.

see what conservatives do is identify a problem and find a way to exploit it, and if you call them out on it, it's a bait and switch and they accuse you of being against solving the problem.

so yes, the drug cartels are a problem. that's completely unrelated to any actions trump wants to take in mexico. but if you demostrate any skepticism against that, the discussion becomes why you're against solving the drug problem.

It's almost like the abject failures of their solutions for drug control are not the true reason why they exist.

these guys aren’t clever or smart. they want you to play along though. they get mad if you don’t and as soon as facts start coming out they bail.

Don't the Venezuelan people deserve to hear what deal you've done with the old regime's henchmen who are still in control? What's your cut? What percentage of their cashflow is now going into your pockets?

US is different then the UK in that elections have fixed dates.

Indeed. It seems that in the UK, the leader can just call off elections when he/she sees that polls show they are in for a trouncing, and they can call an election early, usually just before they want to do something they know will cause their polling to go south.
