ouija boards

Nice find, rtalman. I must say that when I wrote that sentence I did not expect someone to find and post a video. The internet is a weird and wonderful place.

Excellent. I'm of the opinion that Ren & Stimpy molded a good deal of who I am today. I always thought Courage the Cowardly Dog was created in the R+S style.

But yes, whiz on your ouija board and blow your house up*. That will help.

*Results may vary.

Also, welcome aboard. I honestly don't wish explosions on you. I do, however, wish growth in knowledge and thirst for information. I wish the same things for myself and everyone, actually.

thanks everyone for your advice.
I know we may just be paranoid and its because we believe that we feel it is to do with what happened but it just really scares us.
I love ren and stimpy so thanks for the clip to it was fabby.
and thank you for welcoming me to. :)

You may just be paranoid but to be safe you might try throwing clamshells at the rising Moon while chanting "Ilee-meenie-chillee-beenie". That should drive away the spirits. Oh, and you have to wear a turban made from seaweed.

Good Luck!

Seriously, it is easy to creep yourself out. We've all done that at one time or another. But the fact that you recognize that you are scaring yourself and it is not due to an outside entity is a good thing. Welcome.

Because it is not spirits moving it, it is the people who's hands are on the board, using the ideomotor effect.

Try asking the spirits to move it, without anyone touching it. It will not happen.

BTW I don't think it's fair for folks to sneer at the topic starter. If they are genuinely concerned then at least they may have come here for some rational reassurance rather than elsewhere to be bombarded by cr*p about 'Lower Entities' or whatever from 'Ouija 101'.

JMHO.

Seriously, it is easy to creep yourself out.
Sure, if you have a worldview based on superstition and nonsense.
We've all done that at one time or another.
I never have and I personally know tens of dozens who have not. It's easy; just use your five senses along with some education about how the real universe works. There are those who get the heebie-jeebies and run off screaming into the night, and those who say "Humm, that's interesting. I wonder what that is?", then use their brain to find out. It's your choice as to which you want to be.

Well, what did you expect, posting here?

If it's so easy, then take a photo of a loved one and punch out the eyes.

If you do something spooky to get rid of the evil, then you just make yourself more susceptible to the occult nonsense. Just throw it out. That's all I can say.

This is my first post after a serious relapse, so I'm going to make fun of someone for being scared. I know how hard it is.

It's easy to 'creep yourself out' if you have PTSD, depression or anxiety (and many other psychological issues) as well. For instance, I do not believe in the supernormal but have to leave lights on at night and can't watch horror films. Do I actually believe anything is going to hurt me? No. Am I uneducated and irrational? I don't like to think so. But even so I've had to make a phone call for some comfort when I was alone and it was dark because I couldn't shake the fear on my own.

On the other hand if I'm in the right frame of mind I can traipse through a graveyard at night without getting scared. They can be lovely, quiet places, after all.

I think what I'm trying to say is that taking a condescending attitude with someone who is here seeking answers and seems to be open to rational explanations is counter-productive. If people have to fear this kind of attitude from skeptics then most won't come forward for fear of being ridiculed.

When I burned my ouija board it appeared on my doorstep, unscathed the next morning.

Then it ate all of my ice cream and emptied the vacuum cleaner bag on the carpet.

True story.

I guess I might have precipitated things by doodling pentagrams with virgins blood on it, but I digress....

Whatever you do..DO NOT throw the ouija board into a fire. It will scream if you try to burn it.

How funny. We burned one once at a bonfire and the plastic pointer (this was a modern one) must have had an air pocket or something because it whistled for like a minute. Knowing there were religious types around my friends and I made a big deal out of it. I'm sure we confirmed a lot of people's beliefs that night.

In college we used to get one of those tables with steel legs on a waxed floor and find 6 or 7 guys to put their hands on the table while standing. Pretty soon, the table just starts moving and no one really believes he is moving it. Very strange effect which I suspect is similar to the ouija board.

Easily the most sold "game" at garage sales. Freaks folks out.:)

Come on. There's a difference between feeling creepy and actually believing in the reality of spirits and ghosts. Have you never watched a good horror movie?

Oh, man, these Penn and Teller videos made me laugh!:D
Especially the part with the three idiots, who felt completely drained after using the board. :whistling
Must be hard to be so deeply in touch with the spiritual world. :mgduh

Played with one of these boards myself when I was a teenager. :redface1
Freaked out my sister big time when, during the "session", one of my loudspeakers fell from the wall.
She turned woo instantly, believing the spirits made the loudspeaker fall.
I leaned more towards my dad being a sloppy "handy-man".

ETA: A missing word.
