I can't find it on JREF so maybe it hasn't been addressed but I was wondering if there is a full list of the scientists/engineers that worked on NIST because on Digg.com people often post about scholars for 9/11 twoof and only about five of them have a B.A. in Physics or some related field (0 engineers unless one was added recently) and all I can find to counter it are the heads: http://wtc.nist.gov/pi/ -- is there a website that lists ALL 200(?) NIST contributors?

P.S. Digg.com is a great place to go to sharpen your 9/11 debating skills with people who usually only quote mine or attack WTC 7.

Page iii lists the NCST for the World Trade Center report:

S. Shyam Sunder, Sc.D.
Richard G. Gann, Ph.D.
Wiliam L. Grosshandler, Ph.D.
H.S. Lew, Ph.D., P.E.
Richard W. Bukowski, P.E.
Fahim Sadek, Ph.D.
Frank W. Gayle, Ph.D.
John L. Gross, Ph.D., P.E.
Therese P. McAllister, Ph.D., P.E.
Jason D. Averill
J. Randall Lawson
Harold E. Nelson, P.E.

Those are the established lead investigators. Beyond that, NIST also established an advisory committee listed on page xxxi. Among them, some notable characters:

John Bryan, Profesor Emeritus, UMD
Philip DiNenno, President, Hughes Associates, Inc.
Glenn Corbett, Professor, John Jay College of Criminal Justice
Robert Hanson, Professor Emeritus, U. Mich
Forman Williams, Director, Center for Energy Research, UC San Diego

We're not talking about a bunch of egg heads getting together and writing a report, despite what the conspiracy theorists are spouting. These people represent some of the most brilliant minds in industry, academia and government research. They are established, respected, researchers who have staked their careers and reputations on the NCSTAR.

Frankly, Scholars for Truth is a drop in the ocean compared to them.

I agree completely with that one, they have Jones and thats about it. Oh and Kevin Ryan, the great water tester.

What makes all these people with P.hysical E.ducation degrees experts on the collapses?

Kevin Ryan didn't claim to test the steel - he claimed that UL did and that it passed the tests.
UL, the great steel testers - and they are, certified the steel.

Alareth, doesn't like what I just said, but can't think of a response, and so has registered his disapproval in the only way he can.

And who can blame him, since this point has been discussed with you, and your various incarnations, a number of times before.

But you refuse to learn.

Dave doesn't like what I said either, and neither can he think of anything sensible to say, the use of smilies has been dealt with - he can't use that - quick, think - plan b, pretend its one of 'pdoh's sock puppets.

Oh the transparent shillery of it all.

Is it your contention that the steel used in the WTC was not certified?

You mean every steel member that made up the WTC towers was tested and certified by UL?

Is that what you're saying scooby?

Is it?

Think carefully now....

UL do not certify steel.

They certify building assemblies.

It is this false claim which is precisely why Mr Ryan lost his job.

Scooby. WRONG again!

http://wtc.nist.gov/pubs/factsheets/faqs_8_2006.htm

UL did not certify any steel as suggested. In fact, in U.S. practice, steel is not certified at all; rather structural assemblies are tested for their fire resistance rating in accordance with a standard procedure such as ASTM E 119 (see NCSTAR 1-6B). That the steel was “certified ... to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit for six hours” is simply not true.

http://www.mindfully.org/Reform/2004/Kevin-R-Ryan22nov04.htm

“But his allegations drew a sharp rebuke from UL, which said Ryan wrote the letter "without UL's knowledge or authorization." The company told The Tribune "there is no evidence" that any firm tested the materials used to build the towers.

"UL does not certify structural steel, such as the beams, columns and trusses used in World Trade Center," said Paul M. Baker, the company's spokesman.”

Care to withdraw your statement?

I hope you are honest with this list of people who participated in the NIST report. Just because somebody performs a piece of research does not mean that that person necessarily believes in the "findings" of the whole project.

Example: just because a fingerprinting expert matches fingerprints at a crime scene does not mean that they have an opinion as to whodunnit. They do their job, and submit their findings. What's done with it after that is up to the controllers of the project.

(It's late, I hope that makes sense).

Kevin Ryan a chemist. And understands how scientific research is supposed to be done. Not the way NIST did it.

So, do YOU believe that UL tested and certified every steel member in the wtc towers?

Do you know how an engineer goes about producing a structural design?
