The head of the Loch Ness monster fan club has hit back at claims the mythical creature may have become extinct.

Gary Campbell has dismissed suggestions by a US documentary that the monster’s corpse could be lying at the bottom of the loch after dying sometime in the last few years.

Mr Campbell, chief of the Official Loch Ness Monster Fan Club, insists there was one "credible" sighting of the monster in June last year.

But he admits sightings are becoming increasingly rare.

"If it hadn't been for that [sighting], we would have been really, really worried,” Mr Campbell told Britain's Telegraph newspaper.
:dl:
Yep, without all those "genuine" sightings we would have reason to worried that Nessie was dead!

(BTW wasn't sure if this should go in Humour)

Maybe the corpse is lying underneath a rise in critical thinking.

That could be one measure of how credible people are over time.

I think it is fair to say that I do not believe that Nessie has died, either.

If you think carefully about the conclusions of the documentary "Gary Campbell has dismissed suggestions by a US documentary that the monster’s corpse could be lying at the bottom of the loch after dying sometime in the last few years." You will realise that it is bonkers.

Yeah. Credible.

"Me and Gladys here done saw something in the water right over thar, and it weren't no boat..."

He, I've seen that documentary. They actually tried to find Nessy's remains with a little robotic submarine picking ground samples from the bottom of the lake.
I wonder where these people get the funding for such activities.

Toad found deep down in Loch Ness

US researchers carrying out a sonar survey of Loch Ness have been amazed to find a common toad crawling in the mud 324ft (98m) down.

Conference chairman Professor John Watson, of the University of Aberdeen, said: "They were surprised to find a toad at that depth."

So they can find a toad but not a giant dinosaur-like sea creature?

And, hey, look at that...the toad picture is relatively clear. Not the best quality, but you can definitely tell it's a toad. Ain't that somethin'? :D
