Mythbusters

I believe they were once asked if they would address 9/11 conspiracy theories, and they stated unequivocally that they would never go near that particular event.

The moon hoax was 30 years ago and didn't involve the brutal murder of 3,000 people.

You do know that if they did do it, they try and replicate the Myth by blowing up a building. Adam would love that.....

Nothing against MythBusters- but we don't need MythBusters to play with science...

For example, when the moron was claiming that "Net Force = 0" and therefore the top portion of the building could not have come down on the lower portion, plenty of people tested his theory with examples: dropping an egg onto another one, etc.

I can COMPLETELY understand why MythBusters is above this- but there's nothing stopping us from doing some experiments- or the Troofers for that matter... well, I guess FACTS would be stopping them, but that's a whole different ball game.

The 9/11 Woo movement is smaller than the flat earth society, so there isn't enough of a viewer base for Mythbusters to waste time on a 911 experiment. The majority of the country isn't even aware there are goofballs out there who think 9/11 is a myth.

This seems to be the truth. If it wasn't for the JREF forums, I may not have ever heard of the 911 woo stuff. I don't know anybody that believes any of the woo stuff about 911.

Except for the facts about how Bush reacted to it. Most people think that was some strange stuff.

THEY SHOULD HAVE HUGO CHAVEZ SPONSOR THE EPISODE AND HAVE THE BUILD TEAM MAKE EXACT 1:1 REPLICAS OF THE TOWERS AND THEN FLY AIRLINERS INTO THEM TO SEE IF IT COULD REALLY HAPPEN THE WAY THE OFFICIAL FAIRYTALE CLAIMS.

...
YEAH, YOU SHILLS DON'T WANT THAT, DO YOU, KNOWING THAT IT WOULD EXPOSE YOUR LIES ONCE AND FOR ALL!

jsiv...thanks for the huge font.

What happens when it does go exactly as the official report says, will you cry that the Mythbusters were in on it or would you actually have to come to the conclusion that the truth movement was really the ones spreading lies and disinfo?

jsiv might cry that you missed his/her sarcasm. :)

It wouldn't surprise me. The Discovery Channel (owned by Halliburton) has published SEVERAL outright HIT PIECES in the past. Go to infowars.com or prisonplanet.com for the evidence. They are not interested in the Truth. Only oil.

It doesn't matter what you think anyway, NYCEMT86, because the Truth just IS.

P&T did conspiracy theories, including 9/11. P&T don't usually do experiments unless they can do it with midgets, or naked women.

A

Well, a to-scale tower of naked women and midgets sure would be more life-like than chicken wire or cafeteria trays.

It's hard to tell if you're being serious or being satirical.

What's scary is that one has to stop for a second to realize he is joking. What's scary is that his mockery is so close to the actual behavior of many.

Science is science and physics is physics. Unless you can prove that the laws of physics or science were broken that day, your "Truth" sounds as rational as....well..."The earth is flat". Just because you don't understand what happened that day doesn't mean its government trickery.

Still waiting for a complete story from the truth movement, yet they don't have that. Why is that? I thought this was truth and you guys figured it all out...so why can't you tell me who planted the explosives in the WTC? Who specifically planted the fake debris at the pentagon? What happened to Flight 77 passengers?

*Yawn* When are the court proceedings with this mound of evidence going to happen?

No, you are scared because jsiv is coming too close to the troof!

Now, if the Scandinavian NWO agents weren't so occupied by drinking alcohol and 'entertaining' beautiful women, they could eliminate this threat.

You know, I've been wondering: why haven't the Mythbusters crew tackled any of the 9/11 conspiracy topics? Surely they must be aware of these CTs? They know just about every urban legend out there.

I suppose it's due to the sensitive nature of the topic. Still, don't you think it'd be neat to see them take on a few of the Truth Movement's claims? It might be more effective than simply arguing with them. I mean, you can spend all day and night discussing theories about what might happen, but it's quite another thing to actually see things with your own eyes. That's precisely what the Mythbusters do. They don't debunk urban legends with theory and talk. They debunk them with action. With spectacular experimentation, sometimes at risk to themselves. If a TM claim were debunked by an actual experiment, the truthers would have to deny their own eyes to evade it.

Obviously Mythbusters couldn't address every single claim with their limited resources, methods, and episode time. But, there's a few things they might be able to put to the test:

--High-altitude cell phone use / voice modification
--Pulverized concrete (test by smashing concrete blocks in a variety of ways and see if the consistency of the concrete "dust" can be achieved)
--Thermite (see how it actually behaves against steel)
--Demo charges (test the effectiveness of various types of explosives against steel columns similar to those in the WTC)
--Squibs (using a small WTC scale model, attempt to reproduce the squibs first using explosives, then using some kind of air pump or piston)
--Strength of steel with increasing temperature
--There's probably a couple other things they could test that I can't think of right now.

It'd make for a pretty good episode, I think.
They do not debunk fraud and lies. Those are not myths.

Adam Savage has stated that he'll be trying to do a show on Creationism.

I can't wait to see the "busted" sign falling in slow motion on top of teh bible and every religious person starting to meow like crazy cats after they watch it.
