My Paltalk psychic reading

ya'all say you don't need psychics but just wait till next time you go to buy a car and can't decide on the best color. Then you'll wish you'd been nicer.

If I'm paying someone $30.00 for 30 minutes of talking over the phone, it ain't gonna be a psychic!:D

Not a Psychic

Truthseeker,
I commend you on posting your reading, although I feel there is some clarification needed.
Did the person say they were psychic, or just that they would give you a reading?
Tarot cards can be done by *anyone*, because cards have certain meanings. Anyone online can get a generic online reading at many various websites, and see the cards, and view what the cards mean. I don't see this as being a valid way to be read, although results can be interesting.

In general, the person who is being read should shuffle the cards. If the reader was remote and shuffled the cards for you, then you aren't in control of the cards, and the reading will be for them. I didn't see a mention of how (or even if) the cards were shuffled.

Otherwise, I don't see the reader as being particularly psychically gifted. They also should have said clearly what each card was, and then what possible meanings it could have.
The Past: The "heavy debts" card wasn't clearly said. The Empress could have a range of meanings.
The Present: "Abundance" card wasn't clearly said, but Queen of Swords was.
The Future: "Oppression" wasn't clearly said, nor was "own worst enemy."

Plus, the bonus card for "Love Life" really should have called for a new shuffle of the deck. Or the reading should have had you focus on a particular situation in the first place.

All in all, a poor reading, procedurally, IMO. Otherwise, you could have taken the cards, and found out more about the card meanings to see if/how they related to the situation that you wanted to focus on.

But, for most, a tarot card reading can give you ideas and inputs about situations that you might not have occured to you before.

Yes, if you don't touch the cards yourself you will throw off the floobie index on the 37th plateau. Also if you don't sit in front of the reader your "rump chakras" might not be in alignment.

LLH - That killed me!!!

I had no idea that card reading had so many concrete rules. Who knew that the "love life" card triggers a reshuffle? Maybe they should write "reshuffle" on that card so psychics don't forget (kind of like what they do with firecrackers: light fuse and get away!).

What are the concrete rules of tarot reading? If you break one does it invalidate the reading? If so does breaking a rule on card #5 retroactively invalidate the interpretation given on card #3? If these rules are so important maybe they should be posted somewhere so psychics won't make any more mistakes.
[/tongue from cheek]

If there was anything to psychic card readers, people would be investigating the above questions (and hundreds of others). After all the ability to predict the future with cards would be of enormous value (even if it only succeeded slightly better than the rules of chance). If I could predict the future even 5% better than chance I could make millions in Vegas in a matter of hours. It is weird that psychics are not banned from casinos. I wonder why...

I'm sure large corporations would employ huge teams of psychics. They would want to increase their reader’s accuracy as much as possible because the difference of a few percentage points in accuracy could mean millions of dollars difference in profit and loss. Instead the psychic card readers continue to advertise their services for $3.95/min on late night TV. Hmmmmmmm.

That is a major cop out, Truthseeker.

The major cop out is that your "true" psychic doesn't have the courage to be tested, win a million dollars, and share her gift with the entire world.

But I could see where making 60 dollars an hour just making crap up into the phone might be more appealing to a fraud...
