Either way, the President threatening anyone that they'll be punished if they make legal donations to his political opponents should be absolutely huge news.
According to The Observer, the spark was Trump rejecting Musk's preferred candidate to be head of NASA because he (Jared Isaacman) had donated to the Democratic party.

Yeah, true enough. Musk's DOGE effort is almost certainly worthy of proper prosecution for violating lots of laws and privacy regulations. Think they will get stopped and arrested?

Elon Musk blinked. He is now saying he regrets some of his critical X posts about trump and has deleted them. Officials from the trump administration apparently played a role. Among them, JD Vance reached out to Musk suggesting he should seek a reconciliation with trump. Musk posted yesterday on X:
