I hate that people come out with such ludicrous scenarios, things that they know will never happen, your robot won't let you starve on the streets, they'll make sure you starve out of sight.

That seems to be Musk's m.o. He lambasts everyone else for allegedly being overcomplicated and inefficient, makes a bunch of naive, previously-corrected mistakes, then tries to say the problem is a lot harder than everyone imagined and somehow he's still a genius. That's why he fit in well briefly with the Republicans, who tend to be good at proposing solutions to the problems they themselves cause.
 
all the big players in ai are playing a financial shell game, and ai investment is single handedly propping up the stock market, and it’s unpopular and not even close to profitable. and that’s ignoring how disruptive of a tech it’ll turn out to be. so there’s some cons and questions there.

besides, it’s absolutely a bubble. the massive investment is gambling on which tech company is going to solve it first. the losers collapse and the grifters cash out, that’s the bubble.

France has opened an investigation into billionaire Republican financier Elon Musk’s company after his AI chatbot Grok promoted Holocaust denial.

Officials in the French government told the Associated Press that the investigation began after a post circulated showing a Grok response to a user. That response falsely claimed that gas chambers at the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp were used for “disinfection with Zyklon B against typhus.”
