Modern day David

Thank you for understanding where I was going with it, the kids life is more important than the window.

Any religious push I may have would be directed to the people of the church to remember they are not worshiping a window its supposed to be God. That may not matter to most here but heres a wonderful example of what a "true" christian should be doing (it was brought up on another thread) They should do that which would honor God, show the boy he has value over a window.

(btw my jury in my mind is still out on these apparations, if it isnt already obvious)

That attitude is a breath of fresh air after yesterday's... unpleasantness. If there were more Christians like you, Kitty, I wouldn't have so much of a problem with it. Thanks.

Of course this is merely an example of idolatry anyway.

I'll echo Piscivore's sentiment above. I try to believe the best I can about anyone (if you're reading this, Cap'n, yes, that means you, too :D) and not get mired down in choosing up sides.

And I think a true anyone worth knowing would try to show the boy his value over a window.

Thank you I am really trying to think things through lately , it isnt always easy.

Iacchaus

yes it is but Im trying to be gracious in the matter, I remember seeing one of these apparations featured on a tv show but not all could see it including me. Also, those statues that cry milk I think Randi showed how that was done. So all of it is filed in my HMMMM file awaiting more info.

Ten days seems fair. I’ll bet that glass cost a lot.
Ten days! Holy Shiite! For a misdemeanor? I hope you are not a DA.

The only thing an 18 year old will learns in jail is new meth recipes.

An omnipotent god should be able to reconstruct the window. That'd show us heathens!

Who wants to give odds that the fragments will show up on eBay?

An omnipotent god would have the missile just bounce right off the window.

And how many people are going to offer broken glass for sale? I feel a "wood of the cross" scam coming on. I saw a movie w/ Tony Danza where he sells slivers of the "True Cross" for five bucks a splinter. He obtained the splinters by carving his wooden chair with a pen knife. :D

And this movie was made while they were still using punch cards.

What was it PT Barnum said . . . ;)

It's sad, but God forgives him nonetheless. Jesus' love is infinite, even for the lowest "scum" just as much as you and me.

Pray for sinners. This is a young man who is obviously immature and needs Time-out and to be forgiven. I agree the judge was too harsh.

A sucker born every minute.

I had that experience when a former co-worker brought in this hazy xerox of a negative Jesus image. You stared at three dots for about a minute. When you turned from the paper you saw a Jesus as an image of light. She had paid around $50 for this crap and we were making around $6.50 an hour.

This is what was on the paper:

She paid $$ for that I was emailed that pic several times.

:(

No kidding. I hope she at least got a good lie with it, like it was "blessed" to heal her bunions or win her the lottery or something.

If that's a true story, that goes way past funny right into just sad.

Yes, it's a true story. This was in the early 90's, pre-internet days.

I tried to explain that it was an optical illusion, but she didn't want to listen to me. :(

That's too bad. When my current co-worker came to our office, she'd been there a week when she told me, in a scandalous whisper, the latest "fact" she'd heard- it was the rumour that KFC changed its name because the "headless genetic monstrosities" they were cooking couldn't be called "chicken" anymore.

Thankfully, she DID listen, and I've disabused her of many other such notions over the years.

She's still Catholic yet, though. ;)
