Militia question 1

So is God, and in the very same sentence:

Inseparable, they seem, no?

Not in the least. That's why they're not folded under a single term, you silly little Dane. Care to address the thinking behind your monarchy and state religion before you start pissing all the way across the Atlantic again?

Or will you keep on dodging like the disingenuous hypocrite you are?

Notice he is totally NOT responding to any comments about his monarchy government, or Luke's comments about his 'supierior nations' state-sponsered religion?

I think we may finally show this Euro some sense.

If they'd shown this much determination against Hitler, the war would have been over a bit sooner.

Good call, mate.

And they wouldn't have had to call us over there to save them neither.

Coulda saved a LOT of good American lives if they would have shown the same resolve.

Just think Claus... all those DEAD Americans. All that blood. All on YOUR nations hands.

I am sure that you will find consolation in the fact that for every American soldier who died in WWII, 37 Russian soldiers also died (If we go with Britannica's numbers).

If not consolation, then perhaps glee.

And probably .025 Danish soldiers.

But back to the topic at hand, Claus- what say you about the official Danish church and that anacrhonistic monarchy of yours? I mean, even we dumb Americans were able to get past that silly institution almost 230 years ago.

Be careful that your hatred of (insert nationality of anyone you disagree with) do not spill over into the real world.

Feel free to open a new thread about the subject. And I will feel free to respond or not.

Hmmm..maybe there is some more revisionist WWII history going on here...because in the history I have studied, Germany did *not* invade the US, and yet we lost our troops fighting in other people's countries...while the Russians it seems, racked up massive casualties fighting invaders on their own soil.

A dodge, Claus? You?

How disappointing. What would Diesel think?

Answer the question...

Crime, Thanks. Hit the nail on the head, and beat me to the punch. EXACTLY correct.

Claus, while I appreciate the millions of Russians that died in WW2, that has NOTHING to do with Dane-land, the US, the topic at hand, or anything else I can think of. We were duscussing the death of American troops dying on YOUR land, because YOUR NATION was defeated (mightily and swiftly) and had BEGGED us to come and save you.

Russia was (AND UNLIKE YOU DID) protecting ITSELF. Admirable job they did at it, too.

Now, make an OUNCE of sense, retract you idiotic statement about the 'trivialness' of American lives lost and blood split on YOUR soil defending YOUR (ungrateful) people, and get back to explaining how your delightful monarchy and state-sponsered religion of so darned superior.

Wow, numbers are hatred now? Well, what else could I expect from someone who feels "threatened" and "intimidated" by someone possibly owning a gun 8,000 miles away?

Don't worry about my hatred, worry about your utter lack of anything resembling cajones.

No, since you went off-topic first, I think it will stay here.... and you are only "free to respond" as long as your government says so - I have no such restrictions. Feels good, let me tell you.

So how about it Claus? A few words on your monarchy, your state religion, anything at all?

I don't know how this thread arrived to this point as a side note though I hope that our american friends, deep in their hearts, regardless of what they post here , do not believe that their nation has ever saved Europe.

If somebody is to boast about saving Europe twice is the former English Empire and nobody else but this is a discussion for another thread :)

As usual, a voice of reason in the fray. I think the specific issue, however, is whether the sacrifices made specific to Denmark are to be blithely dismissed by the same arrogance that seeks to undermine the system that PUT those troops there in the first place.

I, for one, am much more interested in hearing Claus explain his naition's monarchy and state religion, considering he seem to see such problems as autocratic theocracy in America.

Pot, kettle, you know that bit.

You see what seems that it works with no problem at all in Denmark it would be disastrous in USA. It was disastrous in Greece!!! In case you don't know Greece used to have monarchs of the Danish court until 1968!!! It was disastrous. The role that the Palace played was despicable and they did things they wouldn't dare to do in Denmark.

What sounds completely wrong in one country ( monarchy, guns etc) seems to work fine in another and it's not bad to wonder about certain things.

UK has monarchy but it happens to be one of the most democratic states on the globe. I believe that we shouldn't make comparisons and that we should judge things in their context.

Just my opinion.

We got here because we have been comparing the U.S. and Europe/Denmark with respect to rights and whence they originate. So Claus practically begged for it when he said, "No, we prefer to rely on democracy instead of some imaginary deity."

The fact we have been comparing the Old World with the New for 12 pages and only just now someone brought up America saving Europe in World War Two is a sign of progress. :D

North Carolina is about half that distance from Denmark, Goober. Why don't you buy a world map or something that will teach you just how big this globe is.

........you do realize that the world is round, don't you?

I have probably more cojones (look up cajones, Goober) than you could ever imagine. Even in your wildest wet dreams.

Open a thread. You bring the moonshahne.

Not quite. Somebody else brought it up, and I - graciously as ever - responded. But that doesn't mean that this thread is derailed forever.

Rights are endowed us by natural laws??

Exactly. We achieved them as we developed the ability to make our own decisions based on an evaluation of the consequences of our actions.

I have often found it strange to think that something (like life) which can so easily be taken away by some punk with a gun, knife, rope, or pointy stick, can be called a "god-given right", granted by "natural law".

Just because it can be violated doesn't mean it's not a right. But the only way it can be violated is through the application of force.

And we prefer to rely on the freedom of a republic rather than the tryanny of a democracy.
