Microsoft Security Essentials

So I had to rebuild the OS and after I did that I started getting a BSOD, associated with Norton. I got Norton free with XFinity's "Constant Guard", Not too thrilled with it, and I downloaded Malwarebytes for a trial. Seems good enough.

Now the trial has ended and all I have left is the Microsoft Security Essentials. Should that be enough to provide protection from malware, spyware, viruses,etc...?

Thoughts?

MSE is thought to do a competent job. I would install CLAMAV's windows product as well, though;

I use MSSE along with Comodo free firewall.

Has that improved in recent times? Last I heard, ClamWin did abominably badly in finding relatively recent malware, which is of course the most dangerous. I haven't looked for a couple of years, though.

I use MSE, but it's no replacement for common sense. A decent firewall and NoScript, and you're good to go.

Hmmm... I've heard good things recently, but I'll do more research.

If you know what you are doing, you shouldn't really need any extra protection.
