Rep. Michele Bachmann v. Michelle Obama on breastfeeding

Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota on Tuesday blasted the First Lady's support for breastfeeding as evidence of a "nanny state" mentality.
"This is very consistent with where the hard left is coming from," Bachmann told conservative radio host Laura Ingraham Tuesday, according to widespread reports. "For them, government is the answer to every problem."

In Michele Bachman's world encouraging mothers to breast feed for the health of their child = nanny state even though there's no legislation/law associated with it (besides breast pumps being tax deductible) and Michelle Obama is not a politician. Sorry to bring more attention to this woman up but this was too good to pass up. :p

Why does Bachman hate real women?

She's just angry because when she tried to breast-feed her own children, she instead blinded them with acid from one of her many subcutaneous venom sacs.

1. Breast pumps tax deductible
2. ???
3. OMG! Teh Socialism!

Plus they are only deductible if you first itemize your deductions and second if the total of your medical deductions is greater than 7 and 1/2% of your agi. Also amounts reimbursed for these expenses under flexible spending arrangements, Archer medical savings accounts, health reimbursement
arrangements, or health savings accounts are not income to the taxpayer.

There also were some laws mandating providing a place for nursing mothers to as they call it express the milk. That could be considered a little like a nanny state. Although smaller businesses are exempt from it.

Either way it was just an insignificant way to complain about the government.

Most places of work are required to provide a place for employees to "log out", and if you know any nursing mothers, expressing milk is just as biologically necessary. I don't consider this nanny state, especially with the exemption for smaller business. It is simply an acknowledgment that there are nursing mothers in the work force.

Disgusting how Michelle Obama advocates healthy living. I prefer you have no concern for my well being you Liberal Socialist scallywags!! :boggled:

Nitpick for Michelle: That would be wet-nurse state.

Our (nanny) amah won't breast feed out child! What am I doing wrong?

Executives from the Company look on skeptically.

"So you say this alien lactates acid?"

Ripley rolls her eyes in disgust.

"Did IQ's drop sharply while I was away? I said she blinded... oh, the hell with this."

I don't know what's the better way to interpret Bachmann's position:
That she is so completely ignorant and daft, that she forgets the 80s*
or
That she is such a partisan hack that she's doesn't care if her position could equally be leveed against the Reagans?

*

Why does the whack-o congress critter hate tax cuts for women who do what the GOP thinks is their duty and carry their fetuses to delivery?

Because they shouldn't be working, they should be staying at home like good moms do.

That's what this is about, people. These tax cuts were designed to benefit working mothers. The GOP hates working mothers. They only want tax cuts that will benefit those parents where the mothers can afford not to work.

It's pure ad hoc, hostile reaction.

There's no principle, she just vents scorn for whatever Obama or anyone else on the left says. Obama could quote Jesus and she'd react like he was demanding that we fly white women to Afghanistan so they could be ravaged by the Taliban.

That's why it's a waste of time to deal with these people substantively or compromise. Whatever compromise position is arrived at, that suddenly becomes INSANE Socialist-Communo-Islamo-Hitlero-Facism.

Remember, they're acting like Bob Dole and Mitt Romney's health care plan is some unconstitutional plot to kill old people.

We entered a realm beyond reason some time ago.

This has been the part that has dumbfounded me during the entire healthcare debate.

advocating for healthy living is completely analogous to advocating for staying off drugs. interpreting one as nanny state and the other as good family values is simply head exploding hypocrisy.
