Michael Jackson's Kids

I assume that no one will really be wanting to take a share of the debt that the estate owes.

Remember that Elvis Presly was worth much more dead than alive.
Jackson's estate will be worth a fortune in very short order.

.
That's what really bothers me about his descent.
There was no reason for -any- of the physical modifications he subjected himself to.
The physicians/quacks that butchered that guy are pretty close to criminals, if not overtly denying their Hippocratic oath to do no harm.

People have theorized that Michael Jackson had problems with being African American and wanted to look more Caucasian. Which might have been the same reason he was married to two white women and dated Ryan O'Neal's daughter and Brooke Shields. He denied this and said he would have loved to have children with a black woman.

They have also speculated that he wanted to rid himself of the close resemblance to his own abusive father. He denied this and said it had nothing to do with it.

He also said that two of his plastic surgeries were for medical reasons. Of course, anything he said was suspect, so...

Let me throw this into the mix.
Anything is possible.
"White" people evolved from "black" people by chance mutation that is just part of Nature.

Chance and mutation and enzimes that mess around with the original newly formed DNA play a role in all our creation. Not EVERY thing is gotten from the parents. Some things come to be just by chance.

My mom told me of a childhood friend who was white and both her biological parents were black.

It is rare. But anything truly is possilbe. Presuming you and I are both white, the very fact that we are here is proof that anything in genetics can happen and did happen.

In a sense, race is a lie.

I just don't see the resemblance.

It is how naturally straight looking their hair is that gets to me.

In an interview when Jackson was married to Lisa Marie, Diane Sawyer asked about Michael's skin turning white.

Jackson's explanation did not make sense. He was suggestion that fame made his skin turn white and he was surprised to see it happen.

Lying was part of Jackson's game plan when it came to fame. It was part of presenting a package to sell and Jackson never thought of it as technically lying.

When the Jackson 5 was starting to break out on the Music scene. They took advantage of the fact that Michael looked short for his age. When Dick Clark asked Michael how old he was, he said 9 when he was really a few years older. This was important. This made Michael to be more of a gifted musical prodigy and genius than he really was. This was almost supernatural and made records fly off the shelf. It was what people wanted to believe. It was a marketing decision.

Michael saying that his skin somehow magically got lighter seemed to be his attempt to play that game once again. He was a talented performer, singer, and song writer, but he lacked smarts in other areas.

Lisa Marie jumped in. The two seemed to be getting along at that time and she wanted to save her husband from looking like a fool. She said that Michael was an artist and creative expression was part of who he was. How he looks and how he presents himself is part of who he is (she was implying what he was saying right then and there should be taken as part of the image he tries to create).

Now, how far would Jackson take this? I remember Rowe said that the genes that came from the father to produce the kids came by way of test tube. When an interview asked if that was normal for her she said, "Nothing Michael does is what you would call normal"

One thing everyone seems to be forgetting is that a lot of Black Americans have White genes.
I think "genes" is a bit confusing in this context. I think it would be more appropirate to use the term "allele" or "gamete".

In any event, Jackson could have inherented "non-dominant" alleles from either or both parents.

Also- Michael was often plagued by rumors that he was a homosexual and, instead of denying them, actually encouraged them.

He was once straight out asked by a reporter if he was gay and Michael asked him to turn the tape recorder off and refused to answer otherwise and then told him "no, I'm not". The reporter asked him why he wanted the device off then and Michael responded "Because we have many gay fans and we don't want to offend them".

According to the reporter's account, many years later, that is.

A man willing to pretend he is homosexual (or at least leave it ambiguous) just to sell some more records is willing to lie about anything and everything.

Also, Michael later claimed that the plans to buy the bones of the Elephant Man and the whole thing with sleeping in a glass casket were actually fake stunts. He said he meant them as sham stunts and, unhappily for him, journalists and the public actually took it seriously.

Even if what he said was true, that they were both false rumors perpetuated by himself, that doesn't exactly make him seem more normal or more sane.

I don't know which is weirder- pretending to want to buy the Elephant Man's bones and pretending to sleep in a glass box and lying about it to the press or actually wanting to do it.

Who gets Jackson's kids now that he is gone? I can say that it is unlikely that he was ever the biological father anyway.

Debbie Rowe is human, isn't she? And so are the kids? Then Michael Jackson can't possibly be the biological father, could he? As far as I know, there has not ever been any known example of humans crossbreeding with any other species.

WTF?

I was eagerly anticipating the fruit of the union of pasty white me and deliciously chocolate brown Beverly, but it was not to be.
Many of the salt & pepper couples I see have children with the golden tan typical of Mediterranean peoples.
I would hope that soonly everyone would have that skin tone, so the hate due to color, not one of us had any choice in ours, would go away.

Bravo. And all those damned tanning stalls in the malls could be recycled into ceramics kilns.

Personally, I'd often thought some kind of odd cosmic radiation could rewind us all back to the San tone that we all started with. That would make a comical SF short, wouldn't it?

It's an admirable goal and one I share but it would be nice if we could grow up and resolve the issues before that. It could happen.

 Then again, perhaps not.

Is Bob engaging in hyperbole?

I don't get the joke. It seems to me at best in poor taste.

Wait, she is right, didn't you catch "Men In Black II" ?

I'm light-skinned with light brown hair and blue eyes, and my brother is dark-skinned with black hair and dark brown eyes. He's also 5" shorter than I am. You wouldn't think we were brothers at all from looking at us. Meanwhile, I've been told by some people when I introduce my step-brother that they can 'see the resemblance' and that we 'both look like our father'.

It's the same story with my mother and her sister. Mom is redhaired and green eyed with pale skin. Her sister has black hair, green eyes and could easily be mistaken for a Gypsy or for a Latina, though she is 100 percent Caucasian. Their brother looks exactly like our aunt and their mother- Mom was an anomaly and was often told by her siblings that she was adopted. To this day, people don't believe that her sister is actually her sister.

Still, there's a difference between an olive skinned white person and a somewhat lightskinned African American.

As someone pointed out on one of those links, one of Jackson's brothers has a white partner and their child is clearly mixed race.

Implying MJ was an alien.
I'm still not sure who "she" is but yes, I get that now. So, Bob's "joke" required one to have seen MIB II and recall that MJ was in it?
