SUCCEED? IN THIS?

"The surface of such will be disturbed with lines, waves and dots where none had been present before. Of course if nothing appeared on the foil, that would be a big failure..."

And:

"I have overcome a lot of greif and pain to come to terms with this ability and now I want to show you."

Do you REALLY believe for a split-second he can do what he claims?

I try really, really hard not to assume failure when discussing potential applicants. Especially when they are rational and pleasant :)

Really, anyone that is with-it and serious enough to attempt to organize a meeting with skeptics and demonstrate a claim is far ahead of the curve of most applicants, and deserves the benefit of the doubt in my book.

Of course, given my understanding of the universe, most specifically the history of other applications, it is my expectation that no unusual phenomena will be discovered, but I would feel rude to discuss even a non-formal test from a position that there is no possible outcome besides failure.

Petre, did you READ his claim letter?

(No, you don't have to answer that.)

I get not very much "rational and pleasant" out of his initial contact e-mail.

Doesn't his wording and grammatical structure let you at least hesitate?

It's all relative. All challenge applicants are delusional. That's...ummm....kind of the point. But not all delusional animals are equal. First you have to actually submit a complete application, which appears to be a challenge in and of itself. And a claim letter, which states your claim. This is a bit trickier. And then, describe how you will demonstrate your claim. This appears almost impossible. Many applicants do not get this far.

This applicant submitted an application, described what he could do (in two paragraphs! !!!), and described how he could demonstrate it! He even used complete grammatically correct sentences. Actual sentences!

Read through some of the other claims for a benchmark on “irrational” and “unpleasant”. ;)
