Mass shooting at Bondi Beach

That's going to be a different kind of episode of Bondi Rescue.

As long as nobody's surprised by the attack - it was bloody obvious from the moment Israel turned from Hamas-hunt to genocide that there will be terrorist attacks against Jews across the world, and this just the latest.

Australia can consider itself very lucky to have both the gun laws they do and really stupid terrorists - if the pair of gunmen had had the kind of weapons used by Brenton Tarrant, Anders Breivik, Stephen Paddock, et al, we'd be looking at hundreds dead.
Sadly there are people who think that one set of innocent people being murdered somehow justifies murdering other innocent people. This is in part why there are laws (national and international) because the endless round of violence and vendettas only result in greater deaths and in a time when there are nuclear weapons and a capability of making devastating biological weapons we all need to do all we can to reduce the level of violence, hate and anger.

That's the kind of nonsense apologists love to spout. Terrorist attacks against Jews have regularly happened without Israel doing much of anything. The Hypercasher supermarket shooting in Paris in 2015 is one example …

Exactly. But haters of Israel simply can’t help themselves.

I was born in Sydney, was a member of Bondi Surf Lifesaving Club and spent a lot of my young life on that beach. If I still lived there I would almost certainly have been there yesterday.

Sadly these attacks on Jews are not unique. Synagogues have been firebombed in Melbourne in recent years.

Looks like he enjoys a beer, which will be handy, because he's never going to have to pay for one again.

Gutsy effort, taking on a bloke with a gun, and appears to get shot at by the other shooter, so I hope he's ok.
He got shot, but is in hospital. He's also called Ahmed.

Seven News reported the bystander was a 43-year-old fruit shop owner from the Sutherland Shire named Ahmed. A family member interviewed on Sunday night outside a major Sydney hospital where victims from the attack were being brought said the father of two had been admitted after being shot twice.

“The doctor [said] he’s OK, and the next two hours, they let us to go in and see Ahmed,” the family member said.

I think 'alleged' is somewhat overused in the article.

The name must be a mistake, several posters here assure us all muslims are evil anti-semitic killers; so it seems impossible that an Ahmed risked his life to save Jews?

I think it is important not to exaggerate the facts; because this then becomes propaganda and lies. Only one synagogue has been firebombed in Melbourne in recent years.

That is one too many; you do not have to exaggerate to make your point.

Not surprisingly, you are wrong. Another one was attacked this year. The synagogue was not destroyed, but the door was set on fire. It was still an attack.

Ditto. Spent the happiest time of my life, living on Bondi Rd, and played chess with members of the Jewish community.

(Young men associated with the Yeshiva Centre, were frequent visitors to our chess club.)

My heart goes out to the whole community.

No, not close at all. A contemptible post by the Atheist.

Oh, please do try to address what you see as contemptible.

I made two valid points, as borne out by the evidence above. More antisemitic attacks were an obvious result and time has proven that to be true.

Have you joined MAGA? They're the only outfit I can think of where stating facts is contemptible. Or are you simply guilty of seeing what you want to see instead of what I actually typed?

"Oh where are the Muslims condemning this heinous attack"?

Here they are:

You're obviously unaware of the increase in antisemitic attacks since the genocide began.

Here, I'll help you out:

I am perfectly aware of the fact that everything and anything will be used to excuse, justify, banalise or minimise antisemitic atrocities, using the despicable practice of hiding them by more or less openly calling them justified retaliation.
