Marcus Bachmann

My dad once owned a dairy farm. He was lucky enough to have grown tired of the ball and chain, and sold it a few years before an F4 tornado demolished it.

If only the Bachmans' dairy and clinic had been similarly razed by a killer twister. Then perhaps they might have been too poor to promote their political whims, and the country might have been spared the burden of the hypocritical boors attempts to save us from ourselves.

Yeah. It's always different when the Bachmans get government money. Because they are special. God told them so. But those veterans have got to be cut off. They shouldn't mind sleeping under bridges. It's for the good of the country. After all, they've hunkered in the monsoon rains for months at the country's behest. They're accustomed to living outdoors. They're tough. They can take it. And God doesn't like them anyway, or He wouldn't have sent them to those horrid places.

It all makes perfect sense if you're a Bachman. To others, it may seem more like a demented crap shoot.

Hey, as long as we're throwing around clinical diagnoses when we have no actual training in psychiatry...

...you might as well open a clinic in Minnesota, take some Federal money, and pray that no one notices that you make Richard Simmons look like Roger Daltrey.

That parody isn't far off, tell me your gaydar doesn't start blinking when you hear Marcus Bachmann speak...

Wow. I actually hadn't heard his voice until I listened to that.

Now he's claiming that tape was doctored and he didn't say those things.

A doctored recording?

Meanwhile, an audiotape circulating on the Internet depicts Bachmann as calling gays barbarians in a 2010 interview he gave to the "Point of View" Christian radio talk show.

"We have to understand: Barbarians need to be educated,'' Bachmann's voice is heard saying on the tape. "They need to be disciplined. Just because someone feels it or thinks it doesn't mean that we are supposed to go down that road.''

Bachmann said that someone must have doctored the recording of the interview, in which he addressed child discipline as well as homosexuality and sex education.

The recording also became a focus of media attention this week, including ABC's "Nightline."

"I was talking in reference to children. Nothing, nothing to do with homosexuality. That's not my mindset. That's not my belief system. That's not the way I would talk," Bachmann said.

The blogger who posted it says no, though. And the radio station that originally broadcast the interview won't talk about it.
Doctored Marcus Bachmann Tape? Nope, Says Blogger Who Posted It

The blogger who first surfaced Marcus Bachmann's "barbarians" audio from 2010 says in no uncertain terms that the clip of Rep. Michele Bachmann's (R-MN) husband saying gays "need to be disciplined" was not altered whatsoever.

"I didn't doctor a damn a thing," DumpBachmann.com blogger Ken Avidor told New York magazine.
The show's not talking -- it didn't respond to requests from New York or the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, which published Bachmann's quote about it being doctored this morning.
