Did any map maker put NZ in an inset NW of Australia in the past? That's the only explanation I can think of......aside from all those people just being idiots.

I did see a joke postcard when I was in New Zealand a few years back that showed New Zealand about 4 times the size of Australia, and certainlly finishing up north of the "pointy bit".It was still off the east coast though

The referenced thread is now around 50 pages long (I read the first few pages then flipped to the last), and is the most insane thing I have ever read, on tha intratubes although to be fair, many people there have seen through the insanity.

Apparently. from the last post I read, the "former" New Zealand is actually Lemuria in another dimensional world, and certainly....naaahhhh. Can't be bothered.

I really don't care. Nut cases are nut cases in any multiverse.

Stupidest. Thread. Ever.

Them thinking Australia used to be all alone with no islands around it is also strange. I think the idea that they were reading maps upside down might have some merit.

I think there is a good chance that a lot of those people are just messing with the nutters to see just how much crazy they can get them to believe.

I suspect that groupthink is also a problem.

Wow, great job all, I've never seen this many worthy winners! EVER! Thanks Travis for assembling them for us to be astounded by. Only two did not merit a vote from me, 5, and 20. Not that they were bad, just not nearly as bat crap crazy, for the lulz. How about that #10? ATS is nearing Icke forum insanity. How does anyone go to ATS with out getting nasty unwanted computer issues? I stopped awhile ago.

PS
Go #2!

A few of them might be confused by memories of mercator projection maps with Australia in the lower left or right corner, where the distortion would make Australia appear more isolated by water than it actually is.

I tend to vote for the most insane , so #20 and #5.20 for general insanity, and 5 because anybody taking an Roland Emmerich fim as a serious source of information has got to be insane.

Number 9! We want number 9! The Wise Person Fallacy!

I must say that I did find the presentation of string instrument evolution in 4 fascinating.

You have different kinds of ape skulls, line them up by size and viola... evolution.

On number two, I read that as: 100 nanometers

:)
Me too. I suppose flying that close to the White House could get you in trouble!

Good, that means I was not the only one that had to deduce what the poster was actually referring to.

An exercise in context, a concept that we often see many CTs unable to grasp.

For example look how many different varieties of dogs there are. Now lets say the planet got reseted and in 30000 years people dig up all different kinds of dog skulls. Now they line up the skulls by size and say my gosh... thats how dogs evolved... first they were small ratlike... and then they got bigger and bigger. Thats basically how the evolution of man came to be. You have different kinds of ape skulls, line them up by size and viola... evolution.

I voted for this, its actually quite an intelligent criticism. So much of human evolutionary science seems to be putting minor morphological changes in a sequential order yet we accept a huge range of canine morphological diversity co-existing with any questions.

Smart comment to rile up the conformists, deserves the Stundie.

Numerologists would have a field day with my votes for 8, 10, 12, 14... and I almost pulled the trigger on 16.

I don't believe I've ever seen a Stundie, in the Stundie thread itself before. That is what you were going for, right?

That's not even the best -- check out the April thread -- the bunny has nominated *zirself* posting on another forum.
