Just hoping this was a genuine technician and not some number which the infection popped up you called.

Heh - no - I got on my other computer and searched for specific fixes for the Security Shield Virus, chose one, and then called their tech support. I didn't accept anything the Security Shield was popping up. Everything seems to be working fine now.

How about embedded FLV, has that been solved? I'm not snarking this time, I honestly haven't looked into it in a while.

Embedded FLV works, but fullscreen can have some performance issues "out of the box".

Gaming is still pretty bad.

It can also (FLV) be a matter of your specific hardware and can be converted in need be. Flash is also a technology with a limited lifespan as html5 starts getting phased in and takes on many of the same capabilities without the need for properitary bloatware.

And as for gaming, if I need to game, I'll get an x-box.

I am aware, I've lost interest in gaming and got bored with the need for continual graphic card upgrades, not worried about it.

But other linux users still like PC gaming, so that's why they keep a Wintendo around .
