Magicians sulk about JREF-again!

Yeah, I tried that, it didn't work. So unless there's some sort of safe-keeping website like Wayback that's cached the rest of the thread, it might be gone forever.

I have been a member of that site for years but I visit rarely and haven't posted for years. It is so close to being an excellent resource for magicians but fails because of silliness like that.
It actually is an excellent resource if you can stay out of those discussions, or stay appropriately civil while participating. More accurately, I suppose I should say that the site is an excellent gateway to excellent resources. I've exchanged emails/chats with more than one big name performer because of my participation on that thread, and more than a dozen or so up and comers.

Looks like it has now. Edit to add: Absolutely misread what you wrote as "has not been deleted" -- Strong apologies.

But there's another one in a similar vein, although it's about Banachek and exposure instead of the JREF.

Yeah. It is disheartening. It brings out all the tropes of the anti-skeptic who claim to be skeptical. On the other hand, many of the explanations/defenses of Banachek are poorly worded or written so as to play into the hands of those people. Not that I could necessarily do any better, mind you.

Google is your friend.
Go to the link in the OP, and when you arrive on the "thread not found" screen, copy and Google the URL. You will get at least one result. Note that for every Google result, there is a "buffer link" you can press that will take you to a version of the page that Google has cached for your convenience:).

Et voila:

ETA: I can't show the second and third page using this method. Maybe someone else have tricks up their sleeves.

I do have that trick. Here is page 2
