Did any of the Canadians in our midst happen to read the July 1st, 2006 issue of Maclean's where on page 42 (of my issue) there is an article called "Praise the Lord and Call the Psychic"? It has bits of information such as:

57% of Canadians believe in ESP.
55% believe in psychic powers.

5% are uneasy around Jews
18% are uneasy around Muslims
31 % are uneasy around Born-again Christians.

62% belive in Heaven.
48% believe in Hell.

66% Jesus is the son of God.
62% Angels exist.
52% I personally have experienced an event before it has happened.
65% God cares about me personally.
46% We can contact the spirit world.

Texans scare me for sure. I hear they're like 9 feet tall, swallow whole live chickens, wash it down with some charcoal, light a cigarette and call it a barbecue!!

This is true, but as my mother always points out, she's married to a Texan, give them an Ex-lax just before they die and you can bury them in a shoe box.

Anybody who likes good barbecue.

Sorry (not an ad - just fact) if they are talking ribs when they say barbecue then Alabamans should be staying in Alabama - truckin' on up/ down or across to Tuscaloosa to the hill above McDonalds on the main drag where the High Priests of Barbecue (Ribs) serve it up: Dreamland!!!! I live in mid-Florida and if within a hundred miles or so when on the road will just head on over for a rack or so. 'Cue, sauce (you won't waste any because-------)and a stack of white bread for sopping. Sauce hot (both ways) and brings a smile to your whole body. Texas barbecue is quite edible as a rule, but.........

Oh, feel free to ask for slaw, french fries, BBQ beans or your favorite side(s) - just don't expect to get it/them (I am proud to wear the shirt that proclaims that!!).

Edited to indicate travel necessary.

...or what percent were uneasy around anybody who let their religion, or lack of it, be known?

I'm Canadian and let my lack of religion be known and I am most definitely uneasy around myself.
