...Does the church ever protest Barney the Dinosaur?

I think arguing that believing in the Bible demands not believing in evolution undermines belief in the Bible. People are being asked to choose. Yes, some will choose creationism. But we describe the evidence for evolution as being 'overwhelming' for a reason: it overwhelms. Not everyone. But plenty. And it will continue to do so.

Many of those children in the video will be overwhelmed by the evidence. And, when they are, will they join the many Christians who believe in both the Bible and evolution? Well, that will depend on how thoroughly they are convinced that the two are contradictory.
 
I like it when people try to oppose bible and science. Bear with me. When you say bible is allegoric, and there is no scientific truth in it, you can't argue agaisnt that. It is a dead end. but if somebody pretend the bible is inerrant, or you have to chose between bible and science, then it offers an angle of attack. Demonstrate one offer knowledge, advance, better life, and so on, and demonstrate the other does not, and you put a foot in the door to crack it open.
 
My faith crumbled for moral reasons...I read the Bible and thought 'if this is true, God is barbaric'. I was taught the Bible was inerrant. Learning about evolution, which I had been taught was biblically false, erased my remaining doubts, because clearly the evidence was so clear only a fool would reject it.

Fundamentalist faith is brittle, if they admit one thing they believe about the Bible is wrong, it shakes the whole edifice of their beliefs.

This is the gateway to peaceful elimination of the evangelical christain faith.
