Les Wilson, of Littleton, said he was on the driving range about 25 feet from the father and son, and that the lightning came without warning from overcast, but not threatening, skies.

Imagine the effect something like this would have had on the primitive mind.


The effect on the modern mind is - this confirms only God can hit a 1-iron.

Unfortunate incident. But I've always heard the joke being that you hold up a 1-iron during a storm because not even God can hit a 1-iron.

The papers here said it was the first bolt to hit the ground. Even for those who survive, it may not be pleasant. Lightning strikes leave some mighty peculiar marks and symptoms.

Pretty potent medicine, for sure.
