Welcome to the forums Dave!

This is something which I have heard a lot about (my partner has CFS).I have heard many "miracle" cure stories, unfortunately as yet there is no reliable research backing it up.
The strange thing i have seen in the "ME/ CFS community" is that whilst they will lynch you for suggesting that ME/CFS may possible have a largely psychological basis, many people will jump at psychological "cures".

There does seem to be an awful lot of "woo" floating around the Lightning process
The main website is here

http://www.lightningprocess.com/

From what I have seen so far, there is very little to distinguish "the lightening process" from any other quack remedy, remember that the onus is on them to prove efficacy a few "miracle" cures (especially in a disease which has such a high spontaneous remission rate) doesn't cut it.
However I understand that if you, or someone close to you has ME it is a very difficult judgment to make

From the main site:

The key steps are
 • Recognising the patterns which cause the destructive feelings in your life

 • Creating an effective way of stopping these patterns

 • Creating more useful alternative patterns of thinking and action.
Looks like some kind of cognitive therapy. Might work for people whose ME/CFS is closely linked to depression or the like. Unlikely to work for people who have a more organic condition.
