Just a Thought Experiment

arthwollipot-

Thanks for your response, and rationale. Also, for spelling out some conditions to flesh out the thought experiment.

Well, if there really is a God, and he is creator and overseer of our universe, then one must deduce that the universe without God wouldn't exist. In the absence of the the necessary creator, there could not be a 2nd universe.
Unless of course, you are implying that the 2nd, godless universe was created by the same god who oversees the 1st, but was abandoned after the creation, or sometime after (i.e after the creation of life). Then I suppose the godless universe could continue to exist without supervision.

I think your question defeats any possible answers.

If there are two identical universes there would be no difference between them. How could we tell one from another?

The only difference between the two universes....

And stop right there....

Maybe this hasn't sunk in yet, so I'll reiterate what some posters have already been trying to clue you in on. You can not on the one hand say they are identical, yet on the other hand say there is a difference, regardless if it is the only difference.

You have two rules which obviously conflict.

1) they are identical
2) there is a difference

Or

1) they are similar
2) they are dissimilar

The set up comes (which I'm not accusing you of) when the razor is pulled out, effectively cutting out God, while at the same time cutting off the believer at the knees, to the delight of the wielder of course...which again I'm not accusing you of.

I would accuse you though, of using very poor logic.

Max,

Just wanted to get some opinions. Sorry to bother you.
Meaning you don't want to actually discuss them?
As I said, what is the point then?
