JREF Exclusive: Mark Cuban update

Since the announcement of Mark Cuban's endorsement of the fictional movie, Loose Change, a lot of people from both sides pondered on Cuban's motivation in all of this. The local media to everyone's least favorite loud mouth Bill Reilly, questioned as to why someone would promote a video they didn't believe in. Cuban's reasons are freedom of speech and expression, even if it's false. He even claimed to welcome a rebuttal. The response from many debunkers, including myself, called BS.

Good news, a representive of Mark Cuban contacted me earlier this week about a Screw Loose Change tie-in with Loose Change. In other words, opposing forces at work. Obviously one cannot sell a movie with subtitles over original footage as a "debate", but I wouldn't have been contacted by Mark Cuban if he wasn't interested in hearing the what "other side" has to say.

I can't give much details, mainly because nothing has really developed yet, but I just want to inform you all that Mark Cuban is well-aware of Screw Loose Change's existence.

Cool, I knew we should have copyrighted the name. :D Let us know what happens.

Yeah, I'm rather curious about their reaction

probably like this:

How childish of me! :o

Yep, and the conversation with the gentleman was pretty entertaining. I've managed to plug in a few things, including Gravy's Loose Change guide and the JREF forums to the representative.

All we have to do is wait.
they should package a copy of the guide with everyloose change dvd, lol

I think there's good potential for an entertaining documentary, not so much about 9/11 itself, but about the evolution of the conspiracy theories and the Truth Movement and the emergence of debunking communities that rose up in response.

I think such a meta documentary would be much more informative and watchable. I hope he decides to go at it from this angle.

I think you mean trademark and you probably could.

Nah, that would involve too much paperwork, plus it has been used so much I think it is in the public domain now. We have a SLC blog, video, forum, myspace page, all by different people, some guy even squatted on screwloosechange.com. I have no problem with people using the name, although it can be a bit confusing on occassion.

Make the film. Donate ALL profits to recognized 9/11 charities.

Then watch Avery implode as he chooses between the moral low ground, or giving away all that money he's hoping to make.

A representive of Mark Cuban contacted me earlier this week about a Screw Loose Change tie-in with Loose Change. I'm really curious on how they will do this, considering the fact that I am not a film maker and I don't plan to be one.

I think the way to do this would be to involve a professional documentary maker and act as a consultant/researcher on the project. If you can get a rough idea of a budget, I'm sure there would be plenty of filmakers out there who would want to participate. It wouldn't do any harm to contact some people to ask for advice, I'd suggest:

1. Penn and Teller, or the main P&TBS! production company, The Wolper Organization (address can be found here and here)
2. Mike Rudin, series producer of "The Conspiracy Files", via the BBC (possibly leave a comment on his blog)
3. Jon Ronson - via PM (he's a member of this forum)
4. Savage Pictures - who made Farenhype 9/11.

Good luck!

I will volunteer to help with the alternate soundtrack commentary. Get MarkyX, Brainster, Gravy and I into the studio together, I am sure we could come up with something to say.

It would be more interesting than most of the commentary tracks, where you get to hear directors discuss how they decided to frame shots for 2 hours.

You could do it in Iambic Pantameter.

Well, it was just a thought :boxedin:

Citizen Merc had the gall to bring this news to the attention on the Losers for Truth. The threads gone already though. I guess Dylan didn't want the surprise spoiled.

Here's all I saw before it vanished. (The OP was just a repost of the OP here)

Erm if the official story is so air tight and nothing in it suggests foul play, why would anyone need to do a rebuttal ? shouldn't the rebutal already be out there in the shape of the 9/11 comission report and the other "investigations" like NIST.Why not just point people towards the 9/11 comission report ? :)

Mark Cuban is a bussines man, do you think there is a big market for films which "de-bunk" a conspiracy theory ?, i can't see it myself, not the way most people wanna spend a night at the cinema watching imo, particualrly to see a film you've already seen but with subtitles in it with strawman responses.

why not let the government do the rebutal ?

p.s

these are some very sad individuals were dealing with.People have seen the governments account, they've seen the corporate medias hit pieces and documantaries, there is no need for some idiots who call family member who quetion the governments account "9/11 deniers" to get involved here in an attempt to jump on the coat tails of the loose change guys success.

You're pathetic, Aldo. You really are.

SLC will have a 10 minute extra on the DVD, if they're lucky. Just because they got contacted doesn't mean it will happen.

I am pathetic because I posted relevent news about Mark Cuban?

Please elaborate.

I don't need to. I see through your bull****.

So Mark Cuban subreptitious reaches for the rights of
Loose Change 3 just to distribute the follow up rebutting
Dylan's movie. And he forbids to spread the movie on
YouTube, Google and Torrent's...

This is brilliant! :D
