Awwww.....but the fact that John Edward rapes the memories of grieving people does not bother you?

When he was decribing how John gets the information well maybe he should watch John a little more closely. In all the years That I have been watching John I have never heard him go ... " I'm getting a "D", no I think it may be a "T" Everyone knows that John doesn't do that.

Sorry new to the forum and worried about what to expect,YOU ALL TOOOOOOOOOOOOOO intelligent for my own good.The reason i've joined this forum is cause i got taken in.....my nephew died in bad circumstances and i went to spiritualist churches,i even paid twenty one pounds(which i couldn't afford)to see Colin Fry which i've since found out he was the psychic who had been involved in the trumpet episode.To say i'm not a believer now is an understatement.I hate the parasite scum.

john edwards ruined my breakfast...

dont often post but after watching the excreable john edwards on aussie morning t.v i had no choice!!. he was just about the worst cold reader i've ever seen! how does this loser make any money?. heres a few choice examples for your delectation..

JE ( searching the crowd for a likely mark..ignores 2 younger women waving their arms, desperate to be read and picks a women, looks to be in her late 50's, early 60's) - " i'm getting an older women.. has your mother passed ( well obviously unless her family are very long livers..)
Lady (english appears to be her second language, making things a little bit more challenging for mr edwards..) " my mother passed"
JE- "im getting a T name ?
Lady-( shakes head in bewilderment)
JE " when letters come to me its either the name of someone whos passed, or someone connected the them or someone connected to you" ( that pretty much covers everyone then..)
Lady-( shakes head) mumbles no.
things not looking too crash hot for edwards , luckily he's in a more than forgiving crowd of handpicked believers-
JE- " im getting something about the way you got here, your mother is teasing you, something unusual about how you got here?"

and then a spooky thing happened... i smelt a terrible stench, looked down at my 8 month old baby, and you know, i think she was trying to tell me something.. something about john edwards. acting on my intuitive hormonal electromagnetism i opened up her nappy.. and what do you know, it was full of steaming crap.. a message from beyond?

Lurking? Umm, someone sent me the link and the page is open as is this one. OK, whatever. I'm glad that people from there are reading the JREF forum. Remember, these people really do believe in John Edward, so maybe we can have a little understanding. I know, I know... to us he is using the tricks we all know, but these people DON"T KNOW THE TRICKS and therefore are simply going on what they really think is happening. To them they are basing their beliefs on the evidence before them and that’s totally understandable. The pity is, is that they won’t allow even the possibility that they might be wrong. That’s the difference I think. We are bound by science to admit that we might be wrong. I’ll do so as soon as John Edward stops using cold reading.

There will always be skeptics, which is healthy. There will always be cynics, which is challenging, and an opportunity for a lesson for us all. Now don't forget that the "media skeptics" that show up on shows like this, are there because they want the spotlight, or have a book to sell too. In other words, being a "media skeptic" is a paying job, and in order to "believe" they must give up their livlihood! That guy doesn't appear on TV to "debunk" out of the goodness of his own heart!

This woman suggests that people like Richard are only in what they do for the money. If that were the case, then people like Richard are not very smart. They're not selling to the larger audience.

Where is this quote from? It is a classic case of ignorance and trying to paint me as something I am not. No evidence is given for the alligations in this silly quote.

In fact I had to miss out on a paying job for a few hours to do that interview. ACA asked me to come along, I did not ask them. I have nothing to plug, no book. I could have plugged Mystery Investigators but I did not. I get no money for doing media stuff. I make very little money from Mystery Investigators and none at all from Australian Skeptics. In fact it costs me money and time to do all the skeptic stuff. I do indeed do that work from the goodness of my heart so to speak.

But even if I were being payed etc., it would still not invalidate what I said.
 
Okay, how do you explain it to the woos when they talk about how JE says things that there's no way he could have known. Like in the video he mentions an accordian and a fur hat which seemed accurate according to the people's expressions.

These are things that wouldn't be common generic cold-reading elements. Not that I believe a word the guy says, I've just never heard an explanation for those particular "connections". Anyways, no matter how much you tell the believers about the misses, they always dwell on those "he couldn't have known THAT!" moments.

If I was doing a talk-to-the-dead show in front of a large audience I would always throw in some unusual "messages". Any hits will be certain to be remembered.

Think about it. If he says "bicycle" or "piano" even the wooiest of woobelievers might say "So what?", but if he says "accordian" or "hot air balloon" and just happens to get a hit everyone remembers and says "Wow!". If he misses, they forget and he goes on to "viola" and "steam tram".

Disclaimer: One of my oldest friends used to play, wait for it, accordian in a rock band. JE won't be able to get a hit, though, because my friend is still alive. (Well, I think he is. I am sure his wife would have told us if he wasn't.) My grandfather travelled on a steam tram, my brother went in a hot air balloon as a birthday present. Nobody in my family has ever had anything to do with violas, and I will sue anyone who claims otherwise.

Question: What is the difference between a viola and a banjo?
Answer: The viola gives out more heat when you burn it.
