That doesn't address what I said in any way, shape, or form. I didn't say Buchanan wanted to mimic Hitler's policies, I said he was an apologist for him.

Moving the goalposts, I see. Your claim was about the size of lobbies, not about their uniformity, and many of the groups on your list are at least as diverse in interests as union lobbies, which actually tend to share pretty common goals in terms of desired government policy.

It does address it. Buchanan does not support foreign intervention, including foreign intervention by Hitler.

Buchanan is the anti-Hitler.

YOU seem to be an apologist for Hitler, since you are attacking someone anti-Hitler.

No, I am putting the goalposts back to where they started. All major interest groups have some people who are in unions.

Haven't you read his case? By common consent, Traficant was railroaded by overzealous prosecutors.
 
I'm sorry, but anyone who appears to use a marmot as a toupee (look at the pic on his wikipedia page for a prime example) has no credibility at all.

The fact that he's a corrupt loon is just icing on the cake.

I loved listening to him on the radio the day he was convicted. He was promising to blow the whistle on his colleagues, using typically colorful language. He said he was coming down with "chirpies", a "canarial disease".

Blagoiovitch(sp?) reminded me of Trafficant. They had one thing in common. They saw corruption around them, and wanted really bad to cash in on it. However, they failed to notice that when shaking down people for bribes, you had to follow the letter of the law. He didn't notice that it was ok for a congressman, when asked to support some legislation, to note that he was facing a very tough reelection campaign the next year, and he wasn't sure how well that vote would play, and if he had the resources to make sure the voters understood his position. However, it wasn't ok to say, "I'll vote your way if you put $20,000 in my campaign fund." The difference was too subtle for a straight up guy like Trafficant to understand.

Oh, I could see Blago and Trafficant getting together to form some kind of political movement based upon on their being brave fighters for the Little Guy who were railroaded by a corrupt political establishment.:covereyes
