Is Hal Bidlack Running For Congress?

You have to have a MySpace now to be a politician?!?!

You bet. Facebook, too.

In the last general election in Denmark, the presiding PM, Anders Fogh Rasmussen bragged about his 4,000 "friends" on Facebook.

I like Hal and I appreciate his various skills.

But I wouldn't vote for him. For me, the single most important issue of the upcoming election is the war and I wouldn't vote for anybody that doesn't favor some kind of scheduled phased withdrawal over the next year or so.

How do you know he doesn't? I don't see anything on his website either way.

I took his opposition to Clinton's view on the war to mean that he was more in sync with the stay the course guys.

In the past I have been mostly a Republican voter but I now pretty much only vote for Democrats on the national level, because of the war and because of what I see as the spiral of the Republican party into anti-science, fiscal irresponsibility and its sell out to special interests. I would vote for almost any Democrat in the current environment over any Republican except a pro-war Democrat. I would listen with respect and interest to Hal's views on the war because I like and respect him, but I'm just not going to vote for anybody that has a view that is remotely like staying the course is a good thing in Iraq.

I've been following the rumors for a while. I hold Hal in very high regard and couldn't be happier to know he's moving forward with his plans for office.

I hope I don't get JREF into some sort of 501(c)3 trouble for this, but Hal's got an address where you can send donations.
