For various reasons, my doctor has commanded me, yes commanded, to cease and desist all consumption of caffeine. This includes:
Coffee

Tea

Cola

Chocolate
I need help. I need to find herbal tea that does not taste like dishwater. I need to find something to perk me up in the afternoon at work.
I need to find a man. Oops wrong thread. I need to find comfort food that works like chocolate.
All suggestions welcome!
I have been told to avoid caffeine, but not to that extent. Carob brownies are very nice, as just plain carob gets a bit boring after a while.
I drink decaffeinated tea, which seems to be fine for my heart. Tastes just like tea, (not really, but it's close enough). How about decaffeinated coffee? They still have a small amount of caffeine in them, but if you can't even eat chocolate, I'm guessing you aren't supposed to consume even small amounts.
There is also packet soup, but that usually has a fairly high salt content, and I'm guessing that if you have to avoid caffeine, there's a good chance you are cutting down on salt, too.
We have 'flavoured' teas over here, which taste just like hot cordial. I don't like them at all.
Also available is 'caro', as distinct from carob. It's a totally different thing to carob.
Also available is caffeine free diet coke, which I drink sometimes. (Although they seemed to find it necessary to up the salt content for some reason).
If you want to, you can also make your own vegetable and fruit juices. Apple, carrot and celery is a good mix for me.
