Merged Icebear's Evolution Thread

Predation by Neanderthals drive gracile hominids into a fast process of evolving into Cro Magnon man.
It was theoretically possible that somebody like myself could manage to educate himself and halfway learn to think... whether that's still possible is highly questionable.
Thanks, I'm not really interested in debating things.
I assume (if math is anything other than metaphyics) that you can purchase a three or a seven, or a tree from which you can pick a nine....
The mass of the universe should be clumped together in one general spot.
The sun is about the diameter of a human hair.

All meaningful evolutionary change takes place in peripheral areas, amongst tiny groups of animals which develop some genetic advantage, and then move out and overwhelm, outcompete, and replace the larger herds.

Quoting people while leaving out salient information is fun!

One version:

Evolution is a dead theory walking. Nobody with brains and/or talent believes in it any more.

You know, if I were trying to compile a list of quotes to show that scientists have all denounced evolution, and if I didn't want it to look like cherry-picking, I probably would have excluded the Charles Darwin quote. Just a thought.

There's the problem.... Thinking requires effort.

I repeat myself: it's not enough simply to claim that evolution is wrong. If you do, you bear the burden of explaining our origins with another theory. What is the correct theory?

So silly, don't you know Goddid it ! ;)

Judging by how many of those quote mines can be found on creationist websites, Jebus poofed it all into being a few thousand years ago.

Basically, every halfway honest person with any brains and talent who has taken any sort of a hard look at evolution in the past 60 years has given up on it and many have denounced it. A listing of fifty or sixty such statements makes for an overwhelming indictment of that part of the scientific community which goes on trying to defend evolution and they (the academic dead wood die hards) have a favorite term ("quote mining") which they use to describe that sort of argument.

My own response to that is to note what I view as the ultimate evolution quote by the noted evolutionist Jeffrey Dahmer:

Don't be silly. :boggled:

Let's pretend evolution is false. So what? Your God still doesn't exist.

What else you got?

Or perhaps the question should be, "What is a better theory?"

Icebear, any comment on the tens of millions of Americans who believe in the God of the Bible and evolution?

Evolution is a dead theory walking. Nobody with brains and/or talent believes in it any more.

Um, got any quotes less than a quarter century old?

Not to mention, a number of your citations seem to be from less than unbiased sources:

Dr. Arthur V. Chadwick (Creationist geologist)

Films for Christ Assoc, Albert W. Mehlert, Former Evolutionist &
paleoanthropology researcher
"Diluviology & Uniformitarian Geology -- A Review"
Creation Research Society

Well we mustn't be too hard on the guy. He's right in the same way many are in these arguments. English is a dynamic language. All you have to do is define talent as "lunatic stupidity" and it's a bullseye.

Basically this is a rather deluded statement that implies that every biologist in the world is dishonest, icebear.
Basically this is what we would expect from an Internet troll not a person who knows anything about evolution.

I am a halfway honest person.
I have brains.
I have talent (I can blow a mean toilet paper and comb kazoo!).
I have read a book on evolution in the last 60 years.
I have not given up on the fact of evolution or the theory of evolution.
So you are just wrong, icebear.

A listing of fifty or sixty such statements
...
Such as list makes for pathetic reading. It is a list of quote mines stating the obvious, e.g. "look the fossil record does not record every single dead animal that ever lived" :jaw-dropp.

The idiocy of quoting a serial killer with no expertise in evolution must be obvious even to you, icebear !
Who are you going to quote next, , icebear :D: Luis Garavito? Anatoly Onoprienko? Ted Bundy ?
